Yeah man, well I don't really want to be the first one but one from the first lot will be great, considering that I stalked the store for over 4hrs on the 31'st and took a test drive before the manager got to ride it. They did not let me on the road but riding it in the lanes of CP was great.Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View PostHey! congratulations
yes, i am afraid it was :|
Anyhow, first one to book or not, a lot of 40 bikes is arriving for the cp showroom by the end of this month so we will be the first ones to get it ,at least that's what the guy over there- Mr. Bhanu told me.
I just can't wait now!!

The kind of bike the Duke 200 is it has the right tyres as made for road us. The larger the size gets the slicker they seem to look.Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostNow the tyres on the Duke 200 as seen on the display bike seemed to be very Slick, Treds on it were merely visible, hows tat goin to affect our daily ride, The store guys said we are going to have the same kind of wheels Any inputs on this?...
but as far as regular road use is concerned, they should be appropriate, unless your going hard core offtrack on rocks mud and remote terrains
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Well, considering that KTM is aiming to promote it as a City bike (available at Probikings i,e, big cities), those road/track tyres make good sense.Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostNow the tyres on the Duke 200 as seen on the display bike seemed to be very Slick, Treds on it were merely visible, hows tat goin to affect our daily ride, The store guys said we are going to have the same kind of wheels Any inputs on this?...
Still for the treads, let me tell you that I have R15's tyres on my Pulsar 180 and I use this bike daily for college. From the gate to college building, its a sand filled track but I manage good speeds anyways (around 25-35 kmph through the turns) with bike weaving sometimes as it dives into the sand.
And earlier, I rode this bike in rains too, where the tyres give acceptable grip.
And mine's just a 100/80x17 rear. And Duke's a 150 Section.
So, I think Duke's tyres should be good on all terrains (road, racetrack, rain, sandy, etc.) except for rocky terrains...---

KTM Duke 200 reviewed - Car news - BBC TopGear Magazine India Official Website
A little concerned now.The only downside is the fact that even by the on-board computers estimates, the Duke 200 struggles to do 20kpl when you are taking it easy – flat out it drops to under 15kpl. For a small motorcycle that will be locking horns with the Honda CBR 250 R (our current Bike of the Year) it the Duke does everything well, but I’m not convinced it is as phenomenal as we had all expected it to be.Last edited by bprags; 02-11-2012, 02:49 PM.

20kmpl? Holy sheesh!Originally posted by bprags View PostKTM Duke 200 reviewed - Car news - BBC TopGear Magazine India Official Website
A little concerned now.
Even Fz1 gives 19,man.
That 20 figure will concern alotta people. But then again, what if its the pre-breakin figure. Post break-in this thing will churn out an avg close to company's call of 30.__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

Ktm duke 125
This is the link saying the fuel efficiency of KTM DUKE 125 is 75mpg (=31.7 kmpl)
so i think Duke 200 should do a decent 25kmpl,

KTM? Mileage?
To be honest, I don't care about the mileage...it's a KTM. It may seem juvenile but, I am so in love with it that I booked my bike without even a test ride or even seeing a display bike.
I guess most of the people who've booked the Duke would fall in the same category as me. But, when you consider Indian mindset and rising fuel prices, a mileage of <=20 doesn't bode well for the Duke.

Same here Debashish, I was sold the moment I saw the snaps of Duke. She is a beauty. Two days later my brother was at Pro Biking store to book one.Originally posted by Debashish View PostTo be honest, I don't care about the mileage...it's a KTM. Now back to the point, 20 kmpl is a bit worry some for me. But I hope after the first ride all the worries will go to the burners.

If its much concerned about mileage, then go for HH / HMC Bikes . .
