But the rural people don't go to cyber cafe's and internet sites. They just visit the dealer as far as I know. They could have done some other marketing- TV, Radio, etc.Originally posted by Satyamzma View PostBajaj is not serious about this bike as You can't even find this bike in their official website

I believe the bike has potential- the right kind of people should know that how it can serve their purpose better than other bikes can.---

But,, leave that rural peoples topic :-P ,,,,Originally posted by Nithesh View Post^
I can tell you not much people go online in rural areas to find a bike.
They hardly research and the only thing that works for them is "word of mouth".
I think as a Motorcycle Company, their site must have display of every product they have....sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!

Bajaj is ashamed of this bike they certainly don not want it to associate with Bajaj brand.

a rural market works quite different than an urban one.Other than being conservative its not extremely enthusiastic about new product launches, specially if mileage is being compromised with, regardless of how robust the product might be.Mileage, utility being the first priority.just my 2 paise

Bajaj is ashamed of associating Pulsar/Discover with Bajaj brand as wellOriginally posted by lockhrt999 View PostI completely agree.

, so they are trying to make them separate brands.
Boxer 150 is a very good disruption in the market and it takes time to recognize that. Certainly there are people who need this kind of product, but it's difficult to reach them through media campaigns, it's got to be word of mouth mostly. That's why it's difficult to promote such products. That apart @20k per month, it's doing decent numbers at the moment, but it's just not upto Bajaj's expectation, sooner or later it will sell in good numbers.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

first of all, whether or not the target audience visit company website...all the products must be listed on company official website.
secondly there should be some amount of publicity for a new product, otherwise how will public come to know about it, even word of mouth has to start somewhere.
third, BAL can even make the bike better by slightly reducing the price and slightly detuning it to give more mileage and also if possible ample amount of torque should be available at low and mid range. and make it as sturdy as possible.

Totally agree with all what Prince & JK said. The Website should have a description of all products no matter what kind they are.
And Even 12~bhp is quite high for rurals. 10~ bhp is more like it. Precisely, they should make it more like a 150cc Enfield: good mileage & big torque from low down, (no disrespect to RE).---

How many rural Indians (People living in small towns < 25k population) we know, made their buying decision based on website data or comparison??? I bet 90% or more even don't uses the internet for the purpose either. Then its no use to say, Bajaj doesn't promote it on web... Its something like selling a yacht at Rajasthan...
But Bajaj made serious mistake by not advertise it in Print or TV media... People really don't know, whether this bike exist or not... No name in paper or TV... Even largest selling soap, Lifebuoy need ads. to sell...
Somebody said, Showroom having display of this bike... But friends, most of us goes to showroom with a certain product in our mind. After all purchasing a bike still a big investment for rural customers. If a rural buyer goes to showroom with thought of Discover or Platina, he will not easily changes his mind merely seeing a new bike on stand. After all pendulum will certainly shifts to tried & tested Discover than unknown Boxer.... My personal feelings...
This bike was "soft launched" in my native district, Jalgaon, Maharashtra something 4/5 months ago... But most of people around me dont know about this...
Change the marketing strategy Bajaj, Make the ads in Print media... & let the people know about it... Boxer deserves better response at the end!
