Bajaj Auto gets lackluster response for Boxer 150cc

Bajaj Boxer I think is the bike that they have been making for the African markets and are only testing waters in India to see if they can plonk in a 150cc engine to attract more customers who would otherwise buy the Hero Splendor or Dawn and these are 100cc motorcycles. They are not sure of the strategy it seems and that is why they have not put up the product details on their website. If the bike does not get acceptance they will let it die quietly without people coming to know that it was even launched in the first place.

Right.. in markets like Nigeria (that is one of the biggest motorcycle markets in Africa), the Boxer name has been there for a few years and already a popular name.Originally posted by sadsack View PostBajaj Boxer I think is the bike that they have been making for the African markets...
About the website presence:Originally posted by Satyamzma View PostYes if they are showing Platina 100cc then why not Boxer
how much web space it will require??
Even TVS doesn't have the Max 4R on its Official India website. It's not a matter of webspace but will having a site make ny difference to proucts like the Max 4R or Boxer BM150?

I went to buy the Boxer 150 in Jammu, and the showroom had no idea that such a bike even existed. And, despite requesting them to check on their website or directly with guys at Bajaj, the flatly refused to even do that, instead they kept trying to the sell Platina, Discover, etc.
Then I went to the TVS showroom for Max, they had the bike on display and for test drive, were very helpful and had all the details with them.
I wanted these models specifically for my site in a village. You all can guess which bike I bought.

As most of you pointed out, the marketing should have been a bit more vigorous. and i don't think that bajaj is ashamed of the boxer, if it was then it would have not released the bike in the first place...
And who said that the people living in rural areas don't care about the styling of a bike, and look at only fuel efficiency???
its becoming the opposite these days... i recently visited a rural village in andhra, and i saw lots of PULSAR 150s (the new stickered ones) roaming around the city... i even saw 4 - 5 Apache RTR 160s and one RTR 180 (pearl white with ABS) being ridden by a 40 year old..
now, what does this say??? due to the extensive marketing strategy of RTRs and PULSARS... even rural guys are being tempted to buy them...
so its not like there's no market for pulsars or other big bikes...
in another 2 years we can start expecting above 200cc bikes circling around villages..
Every BIKE has a lot of speed in it. The trick is getting the speed out of it.
