Well I had also read and seen somewhere where a Dodge Viper Drags against another Aircraft by the name Viper and wins!

I can't remember where it was? OD? XBHP? Where?

            guys,
how can a car win against a fighter jet. The fighter has more more power at its disposal.I know some of u guys may tell its due to the power-weight ratio, but still the people who produce these jets dont inverst billions of money to get beaten by sports car.

Dude, the drag it only until the plane in on the runway, i.e. its tyres are touching the ground. So at exactly the point where the tyres start going air-bourne, the drag is finished. If the car / bike is ahead...ofcourse it wins.

If I'm not wrong, even the Hayabusa dragged with some Jet, and even some car was involved.

Yeah, but not on ground, not till its air borne and its jet engines are breathing fire.

You need special planes for aircraft carriers and even then you need catapults to launch them... not without a reason.

Ofcourse the Viper stayed ahead only until the quater mile mark, after which the jet creamed the viper till the 1 mile mark n eventually took off!!! Yeah it was on Ripleys..

hiya fellas , it IS TRUE that a car will beat a fighter plane from s standing start . In aircraft the wheels are not driven , so the engines must propel via action-reaction principle .

Its well likely that a car or bike will be ahead of a plane until the 150kmh-200kmh mark , but after that .....any car is a slow-coach .

The F-16 Fighting Falcon pictured here is also known within the USAF as the Viper , so the confusion .
Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.

My doubt is....doesn't the airplane take off at 180kmph (the take-off velocity?). Or it takes off only when the pilot wants to? Just a stupid doubt! Don't come after my life people! [8)]

By the way, nice pics Arpan. I haven't seen that drag.

But Gliff, why is 999 painted on that airplane[?]
Some men have thousands of reasons why they cannot do, what they need is one reason why they can.

Why ask me.. Max [] . Ask Ducati.

Guess because they are sponsoring the event! And also the guys working in the airbase are big fans of the Ducati so they have invited Ducati there!

Most guys think they are flying when the ride their bikes! (with stickers like "I don't ride fast, I fly low!"[] But these guys dream of riding a bike...when they fly their plane![)]
