And even if they aquire some stake in Ducati, I dont think there will be any immediate 248 or 0199!!! For Ducati, it wont make sense to get distracted from its core business, that is medium to high capacity street and sports bikes which are niche products commanding a premium. Mahindra would do well to get the knowledge they are aquiring from MotoGp to filter off to a new product available in the market.

Mahindra is the only Indian 2 wheeler manufacturer that is in Moto GP since 2011, wake up folks!

I'm not sure if you know how it all works when management control is changing hands. It's not as simple as a PE deal, it works that way only when part of the stake is changing hands, not management control. It will go through lot of phases, all parties should agree to terms & conditions (including employee union and other investors in Ducati). Trust me, there is a lot at stake when management control is changing.Originally posted by tanay View Post^ I don't suppose you have any idea about what a PE firm does. It is selling its holding in Ducati.
Ducati itself is not deciding to whom the PE's stake will be sold.
It's clearly mentioned that Mahindra is among the buyers at the top of the list. Hence there is a good chance of this happening.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

hero has become 0
HERO MOTO.hahaha, there are trying to stay a float...DUCATI is big, kind of reminds me whn the tatas got jag and RR....still lets see.But given the fact BMW and VW are also in the race it would be interesting.like whn VW brought Lamborghini the end result was SUPER LAMBORGHINI,I mean they got better.....the same should happen for ducati...they should get better as a new buyer comes in...sum one stated tht MM is nowhere in biking.thts true.but if they have the muscle to buy ducati.......u may never know where it will take MM............ jai hind....
Screw your courage to the sticking place.

Hero MotoCorp of India in Talks With Bankers on Possible Ducati Purchase
Well in last few days, we had a news item quoting Mahindra in fray to grab Ducati, but anyway that was denied by Mahindra. Now it looks like Hero is jumping in with it's huge cash pile.
Hero MotoCorp of India in Talks With Bankers on Possible Ducati Purchase - Bloomberg
I believe Hero Moto Corp could actually go the distance in this deal. They complement each other perfectly. Ducati has engineering prowess, brand that's respected all over the world and Hero has got back end & cost efficient production lines.
So, that's what I mean when I commented in the earlier thread saying Mahindra is nothing in motorcycles. This is the kind of match Ducati will be looking for, even for that matter a Bajaj or TVS can jump into this deal if they got the cash. But, Bajaj's association with KTM, which is right up there with Ducati, eliminates them from this battle. TVS can give it a try.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/
