  • SHOCKING SCOOP! Garware Hyosung to part ways

Garware Motors is in the advanced stages of selling its stake in Korean bike-maker Hyosung. Cash-rich real estate magnate, DSK (D S Kulkarni developers) has moved in to purchase Garware’s stake, and takes over to enter the Indian two-wheeler market as Hyosung’s new partner.
Although an official confirmation from Hyosung is still to come in, this latest partnership in the Indian two-wheeler market is confirmed.
Hyosung currently sells the ST7, GT650R, GT650N and GT250R models in India.

Wasn't expected this early on in the venture. First with Kinetic and now with Garware, is this Hyosung's second stint of bad choices in India and how does the brand plan to move forward in this competitive market, if their joint ventures keep falling apart.

    Edit: Its official now

Hyosung have split up with their Indian partner Garware and have now partnered with real estate developers, the DSK Group. The latter are well known in construction and real estate circles in Maharashtra but are also better known as one of the biggest Toyota dealers in India. DSK Motowheels , the two-wheeler automotive division of DSK will now be the exclusive distributor for Hyosung in India and the new venture will be called DSK Hyosung.

DSK Motowheels will now be assembling engines for Hyosung in India at their Wai plant (formerly owned by Garware). The first motorcycle to be launched under this new alliance will be the Hyosung GT250R on June 13. Since the engines will be assembled here, we expect Hyosung to come up with a very competitive pricing for this motorcycle.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

This may not be a bad news since DSK's Toyota was rated the best dealer in the world ! Hope they bring in more models from the Hyosung brand

What was wrong with Garware? Everyone was in so much praise of Garware, the sales started to pickup and a good image was getting built for Hyosung. What happens next? Part ways with Garware! Come on Hyosung!

DSK sells Toyota in Pune. Toyota has awarded DSK with a very high honor. Most satisfied customer relations. Or something like that. Only in Pune has Toyota allowed DSK to open two showrooms.

We can hope that the service part will be handled in a very good manner by DSK.

No matter what, Hyosung should choose a trustworthy partner for it's India operations now that the brand is getting some much needed attention and also has products to boot. Such frequent ownership changes creates confusion in the minds of a customer about his decision.
Nevertheless, hope this one stays put

+1 to each view here, I think this time around hyosung will not pack its bags and go home leaving its customers to fend for themselves as the indian market is really something they can't ignore anymore.

But yes these things do push back the prospective buyer.

Garware probably did it, coz it was losing out on the sun film business, after the Supreme Court ruling.

Garware is subsidiary of RBG. They are mainly into rubber & latex/non latex product. Their portfolio doesn't include sun films!
