They are making the engines also here!? Seriously! Then the pricing should be very very aggressive. Is the engine of CBR also assembled here?

In the DNA article, MD of DSK says that 650cc bikes' cost can be brought down by 1.5 lakh with 90% localisation!! And they aim 90% localisation in next 12 months!!!

But will the proposed localisation further hit overall build quality?

Do you really think so?? I mean, made in India tag doesn't necessarily means bad quality!
Big Auto companies are making India as their production hub. If QC procedures are in place then absolutely nothing to worry about!

+1 , very true , everything is depends on QC procedures and it doesn't matter if its manufactured in India or Japan

                    Ditto
Build quality of R15 is one example.

DSK plans to localize the manufacturing of the parts , But will Hyosung agree to it ? Because from what I know...all the parts in a Hyosung bike is manufactured only in South Korea , which is then distributed to all over the world and other branding companies like Kasinski etc ... Is it confirmed or just like the earlier ''Bajaj being ready to manufacture parts for Ninja locally for which Kawasaki didn't agree'' type deal ?
I have already booked my GT250R and within 12months if the price comes down rapidly , That would make me look like a jackass ... Now I am confused...

                        ^^ Don't worry man.
I expect the price reduction for 250 will be marginal.
For that 12 months you will have beast in your hands than just waiting.

I have no idea to what extent the resale value of the 2011 GT is going to plummet in a year or so... lol

Hopefully, the Daytona arrives by that time.

then, with 90% localization, GT250 R should come at 2.0 Lakhs on-road, good, very good, sweet.

                              this is my guess.

Actually, that's the price point which makes more sense. People will be more than willing to shell out for the gt unlike now, at 2.7L
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch
