Well, Hero Moto does have an R&D and even though it is nascent, they are going very aggressive with it. With able lead for their R&D, Hero may throw up some surprises. Till then, sticker jobs are all we are gonna get!

Its Honda tech. Engine is the heart of the bike. All these years Hero was living and cashing in money with Honda`s help. With so much money in their hands, they never cared to design an engine by themselves. Don't we have brilliant minds here?

Would the common people be stupid enough not to make out that the Ignitor is actually the Stunner..??

        Volkswagen Vento = Skoda Rapid
        Nissan Micra = Renault Pulse

and now the first for 2 wheelers..
Hero Ignitor = Honda CBF Stunner

        Well anything goes..

Your comment made no sense because at the end of the day that very "Product" you speak of is from Honda. So fuell efficiency, quality, reliability etc would be attributed to Honda not Hero.

To others: Did you ever think of it this way that Honda let Hero have this STunner lookalike because maybe they will replace the existing 125cc bike with a different model? Considering the pace at which Honda is revamping its motorcycle portfolio in the last 12 months?

One question. Will these bikes be allowed to be sold even after the 2014 agreement date lapses? Or will Hero have to completely withdraw all bikes from sale featuring the Honda engine?
Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

You can't call it as Honda product. Hero bought the rights to use it and its a HERO product, manufactured by Hero.

                1) If bike get any problem then who will be blamed ?
                2) Similarly who will get credit if it don't have any problem ?

I think the answer of those two questions will help to decide whose product it is been called .

Mods : Sorry if it off topic .

                  Absolutely correct.

Whatever the case may be, Rapid currently sells more than the Vento

And anyways, there are subtle differences between the Stunner and the Ignitor. So lets not write off a product before it even comes on the road.

Just because Maruti Suzuki manufactures 1.3 MJD (they got licensing for some years), engine doesn't become Maruti.

Well, if you are owner, then certainly you can't go to Honda. But as a biker, if there is a problem with these engines you know who is to blame and whom not to trust with your money.

Good examples there except that Skoda & Nissan are subsidaries to VW & Renault respectively. While Hero was in a JV till recently now they are a separate company. It's more like Nissan selling Suzuki's A-star with a different name & Nissan badge on it. But atleast that happens in a market where Suzuki doesn't sell A-star.

We are not talking about parts of the product and their sources. We are talking about a product.

All Hero models will continue to sell even after 2014...only few models may face change in their name like CBZ Xtreme will be renamed as Xtreme...

I own bikes & i use them too . So i think i am an owner & biker , many / almost all peoples on xbhp would be same if i am not wrong .

What i know is if any part / anything on bike fails / gives problems then we have to show it at the bike manufacturer company's showroom / service center . Not at different bike manufacturer's place . Which i & almost all guys do . We won't go to vendor of perticular part if it has problem .

Except for Battery & Tyre cause for it we have two options either show its problem & fix it from Bike Manufacturer Service Center or from tyre/battery retailer showroom .

But that your two lines sound like owner & biker are 2 different type of human beings .
And as a biker one have to reach the perticular part vendor if it fails not to bike manufacturer .
Maybe** i understood those two lines wrong .
