dont know exactly about bhp as it has not been told in training but it should be around 8.What's for sure is that it will have a very light body weight which will make it very easy to handle and provide good pick-up.Launch is at hyderabad on 14th sept.

Got call from dealer, they insisted to book one. Booking amount 5k. He mentioned displacement and power (I forgot ). USP he was telling was the biggest wheelbase in segment and stability. I made it clear, I won't be thinking about it without seeing it in flesh and a TD. It will be in the showrooms by mid September.

But the question is, Does Yamaha have enough service centers to cater the needs. I feel the service centers are already overloaded with FZs. IIRC, it takes 2 days for Orion Yamaha (near Forum, Bangalore) to service a FZ.

Here, it hardly takes 1 hour to service my R15.

                        dont think its worth it!!

hey the new yahmaha ray, the new launch has a strange design. the head lights for me is an issue. the placement is not correct. specially for the indian conditions where the roads are not upto the mark it will cause problems. the mileage and performance also is unclear.

i agree, the scooter doesnt look appealing to me. its combo of old age scooter and some new weird design.

Wanted to know the colour code of the Blue-Black Rayz? Does Yamaha print out the colour code anywhere on the bike/scooter?

                              Re: yamaha ray spied

The Yamaha Ray is expected to produce around 9 BHP of power. The Ray will have excellent quality and good fuel economy. Expected to be available in two variants, Yamaha will offer disc brakes on the higher variant. Yamaha will be producing the Ray scooter at its Surajpur plant in Uttar Pradesh and has also expended capacity for the same. The company recently acquired land in Tamil Nadu to put up a new plant, as it sees volumes increasing in the Indian market.
