The reason was simple...the occupants refused to pay bribe of 200/- and hence were booked with not wearing helmet ....The incidence happened in January this year and only now the defendant's case had been taken up and court had ordered action against the Policemen involved...

I think its high time our Cops learn a bit of manner, and also learn how to behave with the public, if this goes on, the time is not too far off when people with start beating the cops upComment

Boss...I read this news and had a difference of opinion
I would say this is just a twist done by the person who was caught
Am sure none of the cops are that dumb..... am sure he would have given a challan without the vehicle number by mistake, the person who was caught was a lawyerNever Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

I think another possibility could be is that Amit, as lawyer, could've used the word "DRIVING" to his favor when the cops misinterpreted riding to driving a motorcycle.
PS - Eppadi...eppadi Ramesh? How come both of us are thinking alike?

The only way to prove a bribery charge is to catch the culprit red-handed by using marked/numbered notes. Not even *sting operation* video footage is sufficient as long as it is not from a CCTV camera. These are 2 evidences which are admissible in a court of law. Of course the lawyer didn't have enough evidence on him to prove this charge.
