Any challan would be issued in the name of the person and the vehicle's number. The lawyer can't take advantage of the challan with vehicle number which can be identified as a two-wheeler or car. In all probability, the cops might have issuued challan as they couldn't get the bribe.

Ok. One of our friend (xbhpian) has been caught while driving his car for overspeeding. When caught by the cop, after some convincing that no money etc etc.. the cop had mentioned that he needs to do some booking to meet targets and cant leave him just like that. hence booked him with no helmet offence.

I know the cop has not done his job here but it was an act of courtesy.. Now imagine if my friend was a lawyer and he hates cops!! But it's not so in my friend's case..

I feel there are great chances that this could have happened! I am sure the cops aren't that dumb.

Sorry guys for the off topic
In this case one point is more than enough to make the coppers do the dance. Why simple waste time and energy mentioning about the bribe part?

I think the cops here might have wrote in a random section for an offence and may not have cross checked what it stands for. This sort of incident has happened before as well I think, Then it was a trucker in Karnataka and he too was charged for not wearing a helmet.

From all the experience I have of cops and liars, sorry lawyers.

No cop ever dares to mess with a lawyer under any circumstance. They are shit scared of lawyers, defence personnel and to a degree of the media.

Most likely the lawyers were drunk or not wearing a seatbelt. The cop issues a challan ticking something without looking. The lawyer knows the legal system, has a good rapport with the magistrate. So decides to teach the cops a 'lesson' for messing around with an advocate.

Most lawyers are thugs and brokers. I wouldn't take their word as gospel truth.
That's very mean and rude of you, Would you feel good if someone said most bikers are speed maniacs who endanger other road users or anti-socials who wear helmets to cover their identities and snatch gold chains from women?

Your comments insult and disgrace lawyers at large. This is so sad.

the problem is no action will be taken against these cops, this is the way our system works. this makes cops more corrupt, because they know nothing will happen to them, they can do whatever they like. those who live in north india & have dealt with cops in Delhi, Haryana , Punjab must be knowing this. this is pure harrasment to citizens. an idiot like this should be kicked in the right place.

I have a few lawyer friends, and they are nowhere close to what they are perceived to be. Yes they are smart and would never let anyone mess with them because they know the law. But it does not mean they abuse their power.
