    Default Rajasthan, Road-bound Madness x 4 ... (Mumbai - Mt.abu - Udaipur - Mumbai 2,000 km)

"To ride or not to ride... what a stupid question!"

Isn't it ?, its indeed stupid question, it started in November 2012, when Sachin Nair posted an event on xbhp Mumbai thread for a short Ride to Bordi Beach, 17 turned up for an event, but why I am talking about that Ride here ? Actually, this is the Ride where I met two of the crazy & like minded Riders. Since then we are Riding together, Lonavla, Jawahar, Junnar & Igatpuri were few rides we did together. then one day after chit chatting for a long time, we decided to have inter-state ride. this was our first Inter-state ride, so excitement begins. we met up at Thane McDonald's to plan it for once. Initially we've decided to keep 3 days Ride to Mount Abu, research begins. Abdul came up with Bhangarh forts suggestions too, but as it was very far from Mt. Abu we scraped it & decided to Visit Udaipur & Mt. Abu in 5 days. Meanwhile another RoadRunner shown interest in the plan & kept himself as a tentative rider, making us 4 in a Group. everybody started buying stuffs but the biggest issue was asking for a leave that too for Riding, huh! Indeed a tough one.Shopping started, Paddy (Kshitij Hunari - padfootmoony) bought LS2 Helmet, Riding Pant & Cramster Tank bag, Abdul bought LS2 helmet (which was the highlight of the Ride, we will get back to it later), I bought Rynox Magnetic Tank Bag & Cramster leather Gloves, Melwyn bought DSG Jacket. we were all set for a Ride.

    Start Date - 09 - Feb - 2013
    End Date - 13 - Feb - 2013

    Rides & Rider's details

    1) Abdul Shaikh - Yamaha R15 v2, Red.
    2) Melwyn D'Souza - Honda Stunner, Black.
    3) Kshitij Hunari - Karizma ZMR, White.
    4) Shahbaz Patel (ME) - TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, White.

    Our plan.

    Day 1 - Thane - Himmatnagar 590 km.
    Day 2 - Himmatnagar - Mt. Abu - 160 km
    Day 3 - Mt. Abu - Udaipur - 160 km
Day 4 - Udaipur Sight Seeing
    Day 5 - Udaipur - Mumbai - 800 km.

Meeting Time & point decided as 5 am & Hotel Fountain respectively. we have decided to service our vehicles till 06 Feb anyhow, checking everything & keeping it fit to go prior to our Ride date. with each day's going pass we were all were nearing to ecstasy. A Day before Ride is sleepless for most of the Rider but for us it was full of work & tiredness too, I have to work till 9 pm same with Paddy, the day before Ride I came home around 10 p.m. to find my self tired & feeling sleepy, yet I have to wash my bike, pack my stuffs & to fill fuel. checked with others & they all seems to be ready, it was a panic alarm for me, went in parking washed my bike, chain lubed & coating done. What next ? 5 minutes of staring at white devil & i left the home. 11.30 pm, whats app message to all, just to check the status & to my surprise all were awake & were dreaming about Ride. errrr, feeling happy as I wasn't the only one to be fanatics about ride. Yet we were Excited we were frantic too. Night before ride's are eautiful & full of imagination for me, so again at 01.00 am checked whats app & saw them online too. we laughed, cracked jokes & pulling each other's leg this all happened for a hour I guess, then didn't remember when we slept on that night. suddenly my phone started to ring loudly, I was astonished to see its 3.30 am, for a second I was shit brick then my heart told me, the Day Arrived wake up. felt happy as the next 05 day's was going to be a lifetime remembered moment for me.

4.30 am in the morning, Ignition starts, I left home, 05:00 am & I reached Hotel Fountain, checked for others no reply. 15 min laters, suddenly a buzz on phone, it was Abdul's message "I am at Mulund Check Naka". 5.45 Abdul arrived & I was bit angry on all of them. 5.50 am Paddy & Melwyn came & apologies begins. so we were already an hour late. At 06:15 am left Hotel Fountain, we"ve decided to stop for breakfast at Vithal Kamat "Manor", decided Formation, I was leading with Paddy trailing us. NH 8 was appealing, Straight butter smooth road, we started ripping & soon Abdul become Wild & was almost thought its Race Track. we Reached Vithal Kamat by 7 am. Had breakfast, Chit chatting full Time pass, we forgot we have to cover 600 km, spent 45 minutes chatting there. 7.50 am we left Vithal Kammat, next Destination was Vapi's McDonald. Reached there by 09.30 am, had Tea & Coffee & clicked some fantastic ABCD photo's (Watch out pics for definition of ABCD). Left Vapi by 10:00 am & decided to Keep on Riding till we feel hungry. Started Riding in Formation as decided before. Must say, NH 8 is beautiful but after covering hundred's of kilometers it feels boring, same straight road less traffic. we were cruising at 80 kph constantly, around 2 pm we had lunch somewhere near to Bharuch, spent good 1 hour there eating. Again started riding, & by the time around 5pm we were at Anand, had a lil break to ask Route, & twist came, Paddy went towards a local cop & asked him shortest route to reach Himmatnagar (avoiding Ahmedabad). A Le-Cop in weird style started giving his instruction, after telling so many things he came to conclusion that we should take left from that Chowk. we all agreed, & we decided to let Paddy leave as he knows Gujju well & also he was the one listening to cop's instructions. we started following Paddy & soon we found ourselve in a beautiful road if riding in Day, as it was covered with Trees on both side's with very less traffic. we wanted to cover that road before Sun set but, but, hopes shattered after our next halt which almost similar to Panvel Naka (Dakor), at 06.30 pm we were some 120 km short from our destination. possibly, we were riding at 30 kp/h speed or we took the longest possible route. I guess second one was correct, never mind we all saw each other & said, "Chalo is bahane jyaada Ride karne milega, let's Ride". but this time we decided to not hurry no matter what time we reach Himmatnagar, In our Mind we were surprised by this decision, but nobody was feeling tired even after riding for almost 12 hours. again Vroom, Vroom" what next ? A long never ending NH 17 under construction road. yes it was almost like NH17 in night with no divider, mostly Tourist Vehicle & Trucks going from opposite side that too very rarely. we just wanted to get off from that road, in course of that we all Saw a sign board stating "Tropic of Cancer passes from here" but we didn't stopped but regretted later. bye the god's grace we came towards a first sign board stating Himmatnagar as 51 km (to Left) at 9:00 pm, & after riding for few odd km's we came to Ajmer Highway again. hunted for a Dhaba & had Dinner there, found the owner of the Dhaba was from Kolhapur so he greeted as in a good manner, and food was awesome too. after having food we started our journey towards Himmatnagar, got reference of some lodge from Dhaba's owner. went there by around 11 pm & to found that city is asleep, not even a single person awake no one around us. searching for place become difficult but suddenly a drunk massiah came for our rescued, he was social worker, Mr. Mahendra Singh who helped us to find place & to make sure our vehicles are safe in night he asked us to park inside Honda's showroom parking. Entered in Room & found that some one is waiting for us inside, WTF!!! who was that ? let's watch it in one of the pics below.

Day 1 came to an end, & Day 2 started with waking up at 8 am to leave Himmatangar for Mount Abu covering 160 km. Abu Road is full of twist & curves, lean as much as you can, was a fantastic concerning session for all of us. too much pics & chit chating, reached Mt. abu around 12:00 pm. Went to Guru Sheekar Peak, then most awaited Trevors Tank to see one & only Crocodile among 4 present there. then started to roam in Delwara Temple & few more locations till sun set. was a fantastic day, we got to know each other very well today. night was even more awesome with sitting by Nakki Lake & roaming like idiots in Market, doing crazy things. went to our Hotel Room & slept, decided to leave by 6 am, in morning for Udaipur to rode on most beautiful highway we ever rode on. Udaipur was 160 km from Mount Abu, a Dead Straight road with zero Traffic. Started Ripping every now & then & first time felt the limitation with speed in our bike, we wished if we had bigger cc engine. Reached Udaipur around 2 pm & had Lunch & sight seeing started. We saw Fateh Sagar Lake, Sahilyo ka Badi, City palace, Pichola Lake & lots of other points in those two days. The Ride was full of twist, masti & hungama we ever had. Day 4 was memorable for some other reason too, Abdul who was taking special care for his helmet faced a heart attack, when his helmet felt from his hand from bike & leaving entire body of helmet with Scratches. it was big LoL moment for us, as Abdul get trolled, and Paddy also did Melwyn's bike repairing work on same day when he was drunk. all hungama & masti that was our ride.

Happiness is a Voyage, not a destination there is no better time to be happy than ....................... Now !!
