i wanna discuss that the other platform bajaj is developing will also have a pressed steel perimeter frame chasis or a different type of chasis ? will it have a chasis similar to P200 NS just that it will be bigger or it will have a different chasis and if different, then what it could be ?

another thing i wanna discuss is will it follow the same pulsar evolved design or will it have an entirely different design philosophy?

anybody has got any ideas or insider information?
In one of the interview i remember Rajiv Bajaj saying that all the new vehicles will be be having individual designs and may not carry the same design. So i feel even if it carries few resemblence with 200 NS design, it should stand out on its own with different design cues.

Wrt chasis i think they will go ahead with perimeter frame chasis or bring in the trellis frame. They cant backtrack to diamond frame chasis for its new generation high powered bikes.

But at the same time i wish they update the current pulsars 150/180 with revised engines, based on experience gained from 200NS, and also make a major revision to its looks. It needs to evolve.

I do not see any big bike coming from their stable in 2012, no concrete information though. Just some calculations!

2012 not coming is fine. But if its coming in 2013 then atleast some news should be there na. Some spy pics, something

I hope the parallel rumors of scrapping the Duke 350/375 for the just the Duke690 don't come true. We need a "bridge" bike

A KTM dealer told me today that Bajaj can launch Duke 690 anytime now. Even Duke 390. They are only trying to get the price right which is being difficult due to currency fluctuations.

Yes very true, we need a bridge bike something in between the present 250s and the 650cc+ category to graduate. It may not be a requirement for everybody but for masses it is definitely a need to learn to handle that extra power n torque IMHO.

Duke 690 can easily be launched here via CKD route, considering its already being manufactured at KTM Austria plant.

KTM Austria also makes 4-stroke single cylinder 250cc, 350cc, 450cc, etc engines for their MX and Enduro bikes. The same can be plonked into a Duke chassis. Only thing is, they cannot reuse 125/200 Duke chassis (being too light and weak to handle a big engine) and will have to either create a new one entirely (which is most likely to happen), or they could reuse Duke 690 chassis (which is not so likely).

So IMO, expect Duke 690 first, to set the bar for KTM's. It'll also be KTM's first bike with ABS in India.

Bajaj and KTM engineers would together later work on launching Duke naked bikes with other engines.

For the kind of roads that I usually ride on, even my 220 is a overkill at times. And a "bridge" bike would be perfect for my needs since I don't need to do 200+ speeds on Indian road conditions in a 600+cc bike ... Agreed that there is no replacement for displacement, but for my needs something like a 350 will be more than enough
