two-wheelers not allowed on expressways is a very new trend catching-in in india. a very sad thing indeed. this is a very bad thing and we should do something to stop it. its like we bikers are outcast or inferior ppl. powerful ppl, rich people who make the laws are not bikers and they travel by cars and think two wheelers are for poor ppl.

this is a really sad mentality and sad thinking that is setting in ...in majority of indians that
                    1) two wheelers are for poor only.
                    2) two wheelers are always ridden recklessly.
                    3) most of the accidents are caused because of two wheelers.

all the above are actually false statements.

i think we are the largest biking community in india, if i am not wrong, and if we cant make ourselves heard, if we cant raise our voice, nobody can.

we should raise a campaigne to change this mindset of ppl. and maybe rope in all two wheeler manufacturers also to add some corporate might.

A one way trip to Agra on a bike would cost around Rs.150 in toll charges. Thanks, I will take the NH2 instead.

Please don't take this the wrong way but a pedal powered bicycle rider can make more torque than 95% of motorbikes sold in India. Most econo-commuter bikes use car bumpers as their brakes because the ones on their bikes are so inadequate. What most people riding econo-commuter motorcycles in the cities do not realize is that Highway riding is not something they are adept at. Every Tom Dick Harry 2-wheeler rider cannot be allowed to use the expressway or else its entire purpose will be lost. This doesn't mean that all car drivers are godsends. But that they are less likely to kill themselves if the wind changes direction when moving along at a steady 100 kmph because of their bulk.

There either has to be some limitation on the kind of bikes allowed (eg. 15+ bhp only) OR a high toll which would act as a deterrent and keep the splendors and the scooties away. BHP based limits would also act as an incentive for 2-wheeler manufacturers to use better technology instead of detuning to boost FE on, say, 125-150cc bikes so that all of them can at least be used *gracefully* on access controlled highways. The bikes making less power than limit would then be considered as a drawback by people who stay in areas with access to such e-ways.

Till the day such limitations are put, we will keep being fed with a steady diet of 8-9 bhp 125cc bikes instead of, say, 15 bhp which is the norm in Europe.

And as for your fears highlighted in Bold, I am pleased to inform you that 2-wheelers are allowed on the Yamuna E-Way.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

What most people have failed to mention is that this is useful only if you live in or around Noida. If you are in Gurgaon or the other side of Delhi, you are much better off on the old highway.

it is also useful for people coming from Ghaziabad or beyond.

I think a lot of people from Delhi, particularly vehicles with foreigner tourists, will also use it as it will save a lot of traveling time and also avoid the traffic jams in cities like faridabad, palwal, etc.
