It was a mistake. Corrected. 14.7 bhp is more than what most 150cc bikes in India (all but P150, R15 and CBR150R) manage.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Have to agree with you completely.TVS should remember that they are competing against Honda and Yamaha here.To do so they have to give what the japs give, which is refinement with decent looks(Performance for Yamaha) and then top it some more with technical features.Like 4valves,5 speed and maybe a mono-shox too, just like the Discover to give added performance as an extra incentive. Then go on a marketing blitz as well. This looks like a very conservative approach by TVS and might not get more than the usual die-hard TVS fanatics for customers in what looks like honda dominated segment(Shine?).

Oh please! This is way better than the Shine atleast, for the sake of comparison. Shine is one of the crappiest 125cc bikes today. Stunner, Discover 125ST, Discover 125, SS125, Ignitor, etc are far far ahead.

Agree with you, but usually I will have both Shine & Stunner in my crappy list Disco 125, 125ST, Yamaha SS125, P135LS and Suzuki 125 are far better options.

I was so disappointed after checking out "new" RTR series (I consider myself lucky that I have the previous model of RTR180 ) ...and a new 125cc bike rather increased it...I read somewhere that they invested 50 crores on R&D of "Phoenix"...they should have gone with a 225cc bike...just saying...

It seems TVS is not interested beyond 180 cc.

"It is small segment (200-250 cc). Once you go beyond 150-180cc the numbers are much, much small. OUR FOCUS is BELOW that". - Mr V. Srinivasan (Chairman TVS Motor)

So it seems we cannot expect anything bigger from TVS....Talks with BMW are some BS,,,,, BMW can stand alone in INDIA if they launch themselves in INDIA.
That is what i used to say TVS is like Government Company - u cannot expect anything bigger from them, they do not have the ability to learn from the mistakes that are already made.

I am thinking 67kmpl is best in class?? Then what average does Honda Shine and D125ST gives ??? I have heard they are 60+kmpl. When TVS is quoting 67kmpl then surely it will give <60kmpl in normal india roads!!

Whatever happened to Company's Claimed RACING HERITAGE!!! Did it just Vanished ??? I at least expected a 20 CC upgrade over the rtr 180! Mr. Venu just killed off all the Enthusiastic attitude of TVS followers (including me) !

Being an avid racing bike enthusiast, I was highly disappointed when I read this thread. So, I immediately cross checked with someone I know who attended the launch conference. While Mr. Venu Srinivasan did make the above quoted statement, he also continued “ we will also make bigger bikes but right now the focus is below 180 cc segment.” Hmmmmm. Some relief!! Whew!

I am sure that they will.. i.e. after they see others sell bigger bikes profitably/in decent numbers.

The Velocity was just a concept based on the RTR platform which was shown at an Auto Show in Indonesia. It was just a mod job done locally in Indonesia.

Forget about it making into production.
