Hate'em but admit Hero has bought/started something fresh n industry. They bought the first 150, the first 200+ cc, and the first/ only off-on road'r. If they can manage a 'Twin', they can continue the saga. And with Eric, it may be a V twin!. Make it a 300 and go global.

My respect for hero and bajaj is the same... Both are truely amazing!! both have its pros and cons.. Bajaj partnered with kawasaki eariler but that did not quite bring a kick.. But then, something hit them and then you see the pulsar which changes the perception of an indian biker!! Then the upgrades which finally ended with the 200NS with one of the top most technology.. Hats off to bajaj for this.. A desi-looking bike, its own unique design, and it was also the bike to first bring in digital speedos in india.. Hope am correct in this point..
And then we have hero.. Some call it as a stickering company and i pity their narrow-mindedness.. The designs for hunk, cbz classic, karizma, etc etc were given by whom then? The quality of hero came through honda's influence and even after their break-up they will maintain that quality..
We must be proud of hero that an INDIAN company has got an award as the world's largest manufacturer and now its closely followed by bajaj.. Instead of having a bajaj vs hero discussion as we've seen in many threads, it would be greatful if we respect our indian companies.. Hope tvs gains its value soon and hope bajaj, hero etc etc have a rich international market. We have hero introducing us with american tech now and bajaj and KTM doing wonders together.. Let them develop untill they can manufacture a bike rite from the scratch without the help of any foreign hand.. So we have to encourage hero, bajaj, tvs etc to come up to their fullest potential.. Rite now, am proud of these companies...ZMR- PGMFI re-defined

In our patriotic binge let's not forget that all our indian manufacturers have at one point and even to this day borrow/license the core engine technology from foreign companies, without that infusion they would have never reached where they are now. Blame it on the lack of R&D in this country which loves jugaad. The Indian companies did a commendable job in providing basic vehicles suitable for Indian conditions in an affordable package but those days are numbered and now its a different ball game. We live in a global economy and unless the manufacturers rise up to expectations and innovation required for the times they will lag and ultimately bite the dust.
I think they know this and are taking steps to remain relevant in the modern times. Competition is here to stay unlike the 80s and 90s where they were untouched and they have to learn to be competitive and be responsive to market changes.Last edited by sparky; 08-12-2013, 10:04 AM.

The less we speak about Rural Enfield the better. The "technology" and design is from a brush bike of the

Ha, even that was borrowed from Royal Enfield, UK. They are the worst of the lot, others improved whatever they could, RE boasts that old is gold and tries to make 100% money out of Vintage badge alone, nothing to do with the quality of its motorcycles.Originally posted by Satyamzma View Postare you sure? what about Royal Enfield Company?
