Whats wrong with a 50km/h speed limit for trucks? They carry heavy loads and if at all they want to raise the limit, maybe 60 km/h but not more than that. Do you know, the major cause of accidents with trucks is because they lose control of the vehicle when travelling at high speeds and brake suddenly.Originally posted by aargee View Post

FYI - the above truck puts 500 Hp motor & can match a CBR 250R even with 10 tonnes of load. Kindly check the picture again.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostWhats wrong with a 50km/h speed limit for trucks?
Major cause is two-wheelers; there's a thread on this in the news section in xBhpOriginally posted by Ezilkannan View PostDo you know, the major cause of accidents with trucks is because they lose control of the vehicle when travelling at high speeds and brake suddenly

This is my last say on this; I'm not getting argumentative if 50 Kmph is justified or not. This thread was meant to provide a news that BTP has initiated a service through which public can upload pictures to control the number of offences. Hope it brings a significant change in our corrupt system & reduce the number of traffic offence, accidents & death.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Well, the rest of it seems correct. But I distinctly remember that that the speed limit for motorcycles was 80 and not 50. You can get yourself killed if you ride at 50 on the expressway since the leftmost lane is the one for heavy vehicles and the speed limit on that one is 65. So in case you don't want to get run down, you will have to ride on the breakdown-lane/ the grassOriginally posted by aargee View PostShoots!!! Are you sure the speed for motorcycles is 80 Kmph? If you've any pics from the YEW stating the speed limit for motorcycles, pls post here.
Meanwhile, pls go through this & it should clear most of the misconception, especially at the bottom of the page - Yamuna Expressway - Everything You Need to Know
.
I don't know if it has changed now but as of August 16 2012, it used to be 80kmph. Maybe Delhi / Agra / Mathura members can confirm. Even the road leading to the E-Way from Greater-Noida side had a speed limit for Motorcycles alternating between 70 and 80 in patches. Car speed limit was fixed at 90 before the E-Way starts, after it starts, speed limit increases to 100.
I am sorry that I didn't click pics of the speed limit boards itself since I didn't stop anywhere close to one but I guess I did post this in the HVK group around 20th of August.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

Since when? From 1988 MV act or even before, the speed limit for motorcycles are 50 Kmph; all I'm aware is motorcyclists can be fined in this country for violating the speed limit of 50 Kmph through the country. Having sign board of 80 is only for 4 wheelers & does not apply for trucksOriginally posted by antz.bin View PostBut I distinctly remember that that the speed limit for motorcycles was 80 and not 50...around 20th of August

I learned that except some parts of Delhi where it's 70 Kmph, all other states have this 50 Kmph speed limit for motorcycles.

I hope this solves the confusion on speed limits & hence can we get back to the original topic please?
