I was just waiting for someone to mention Ducati coz the naked VTR looks exactly like a miniature Monster and I am sure these would sell prity well with the Wanna Be crowds here

CBR 250 can get that naked styling. and might cost 10-12K less than CBR. That would be more practical for Honda. and we dont need these 250 twin cylinders in our market. bring us the 400s/ 500s....

If at all it launches in India - the VTR250F should be positioned at 2.5 lacs range - that way, it can be a very logical upgrade to anyone coming from a ZMA/P220 and looking for a quarter-faired bike. The 2.5L pricing will fill the pricing gap between the CBR250 and the N250 (2L-3L) and it won't be a serious threat to the Ninja 250 either, as the N250 is positioned differently.

Not sure about the VTR250 - the Comet 250 did appeal to a significant number of bikers almost a decade ago - should appeal so quite a few people even today.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

That very segment (2-2.5L) is going to see some singles that can put such twins to shame in terms of performance.
Hondas ambition is to sell in large numbers and become Number 1 in India.
Bringing this cool 250 twin will not go well with that plan , considering stiff competition waiting ahead.

I don't see this coming in any soon.

By the way, if this one is a very logical upgrade to 220 and ZMA guys, they should have bought N250 giving that additional 50 bucks 2 years back.

              Can you quote a few?

The 220/ZMA and the N250 cater to completely different segments. There are many people who look for naked/ semi-faired bikes and/or bikes with upright seating, similar to their existing rides. And then there are people who prefer low-end torque and midrange cruising capability, which most of the 250s (N250, GT250) do not offer.

I do not see how bringing this bike will hinder Honda's growth plans? It will add more variety to Honda's 250cc range and can boost sales. Look at Hero - they have atleast 4 "current" bikes in the 150cc range and all of them are selling in big numbers.

                I Admit this point.
However, me and many I know will not consider this a great upgrade from 220. We had 20-21 HP 5 Years back, A gain of 8-9 HP In 5 years doest make sense to all.
Just meant that. I know few serious tourers riding 250R though.

Most of Heros selling numbers come from smaller bikes , I read somewhere.
Yeah it may not harm. But is the effort worth while for honda is the matter.

I am definitely not hating this bike. I love the bike but, just thought that It will not make much business sense for Honda if they bring it here.
I will be happy If I am proven wrong. In fact I am looking forward to hear from them when they are going to bring the CB500 X.
It haven't came to India for last 2 decades. But still , This may be best time to bring. Lets wait and see.

Seriously afraid to post anything more on this subject

The designs of the bach was inherited from a cruiser old VFR 250.
I would say that was a a bad copy work.
Don't have much great / wow looks. First 1/2 looks good, second 1/2 average.
But in India [If they launch] it can be Upgarde to ZMA..

You mean the Duke390 and the Pulsar 375 twins? That apart, I don't see any other VFM launches.
The 2013 Ninja250 is going to be more expensive than the outgoing model. The Ninja300 will be priced at 3.5L+. The KTM 350 SXF is definitely not coming to India. And maybe the RC25. Yamaha is still tight-lipped about any new launches.

I am not criticizing your comments. What I am saying is - we need as many new models as the manufacturers can afford to launch - and this is one model which actually makes sense in India. Honda is anyways launching the Streetfire to compete in the 150cc segment - so they might as well launch the VTR as a companion in the 250cc. The CB500 trio are excellent machines - I am very sure my next upgrade will be a CB500F - but again, 500s are a very niche market.

At the end, it's the customer who will benefit from more launches and more competition.
