By the end of this financial year, Hero Moto Corp expects its international business to be in full swing. All future products will not just have the Indian Market, but also the global market in view.

Hero's new Hybrid Scooter Leap is expected to be launched simultaneously in Indian and International markets. The company has identified 30 countries for its international business and is hoping to enter 8-10 of these by the end of this year.

Hero Moto Corp is expecting global sales to be 1 million units by 2016-17. Currently it is just 2% at 144156 units. Hero expects 10% of its total revenue to be coming from the International markets by 2017.

    Dua -

This is the approach that Hero is going to take, for facing the Giant Honda. While Honda, is planning to launch India specific bikes, with a new R&D facility at Manesar. Honda might export those 'India Specific' bikes to other markets as well. But the primary aim is India.

I'm rather sure that in Hero's world, "international" means bangladesh, afghanistan, bhutan, vietnam, sri lanka and the likes. Still not exactly hopeful that we'll see something very exciting coming from them.

I'm really glad that Hero is trying, but to be honest, they really need to work on their angle of approach. Their designs are just too blunt for my taste. The CBZ and Karizma were game changers but its really time for them to move up rather than just keep feeding on a decade old success story.

Are they still banking on the Leap? I wonder when their collaboration with EBR would yield some decent results in India.

The CBZ and ZMA designs were "borrowed" from Honda's international models, as with every other bike from HH till date. I am yet to see any original design from HMC coming up. The ZMR was a bit of "inspired" original design, if you can call it so - but that was all!

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Well yea figured as much since its quite easy to comprehend looking at their current line up of uninspiring models. I still remember the first Krizma I saw, It was just so cool that I wanted one really bad. Their laters ZMR is just an awful looking bike ( no offense to anyone, its just my personal opinion ) which begs the question as to what on earth were they thinking? :|

Probably the designers were dreaming of a Hayabusa while designing the ZMR - but got woken up by their managers halfway through their dreams !

remember the old story in school.. where the monkey tried to copy and ends up cutting himself...

even to copy.. they still need brains.. no offence.. i love zma... but zmr is a poorly designed bike.. outta proportion..

ZMA-R was an awesome bike at its time which still holds a fair enough position even if not great..& ZMR might look odd/bad to many but also it looks good to others who bought it as its looks grows on you like many other bikes of Honda as well..but point is not how a bike looks, as looks are subjective but how it fulfills the requirements of its owner/rider..ZMR took ZMA-R an another step ahead, which I guess Hero should have done 5-6 years back..they came up late with ZMR..but still its an improved Karizma..
