A scaled down 350cc cafe racer+a better frame would be a fun thing to ride.Is that what enfield is aiming?

Thank god nobody has acquired patent on single SI engines.

I think RE has patented the twin-spark, which means one spark in the spark-plug and another spark in the electrical system

Jokes apart, I personally think that while R&D is an important aspect of any competitive business, they must also invest on QC department (if at all one exists at the RE factory!)

RE are pioneers no doubt about that. But the thing about the present 500 engine and the cafe racer being....i think although theyre 500cc but the torque and power figures are low. Theres a marginal increment over the 350 to 500 transition.
Secondly the long stroke engine RE develops is a trend and quite their trademark but cafe racer should have been a little more revving not-thumpy engine as per the shrouded cafe racer styling.
Look at the other cafe racers built. Although the retroness which RE breeds and thus wants to continue in their upcoming bikes is good in terms of looks and features. But as per the engines are concerned esp cafe racer upp for launch in few time must had been a lil more revving engine than the current thumpy long stroke ones.
Overall the RE cafe racer would be as a prelude to this. But i think engines too require more versatality by RE.

A cafe racer should actually bring a throaty roar to it - something that should remind you of Yezdi Roadkings!

This news must be the joke of the year. RE can of course make a 250CC or even a 750cc but it will be the same engines scaled up/down. Now that's like Parle-G bringing new biscuits to market based on size alone!
