Dude, what dishayu told you is all 100% to the point. There are no restrictions, and the red light is a "gear indicator" that you know when you reach a certain rpm so you can shift gear optimally. And the engine will be perfectly fine if it gets revved to higher rpms for shorter times.
Have no worries about it, and if you want this bike just go and book it. Just use you common sense, like with every other bike inspect it before delivery, make sure everything is OK.

This mind set about babying your bike during the first 1000 km is very deep rooted, and I'm sure you can find dozens of sites where they'll tell you to baby your bike as much as possible during the first 1000 km and then you're free to rip it. But in fact, that couldn't be further from truth. People need to realize that this isn't a Splendor...
You need to rev your bike every now and then to high rpms for short time in order to break the engine in. Otherwise it CAN'T break in. How? With gentle low rpms?? Sorry, can't.

And even IF the engine is being "mistreated" - just read the specs of D390's engine - it's a modern stuff that's made to work at high rpms. It's MADE to be ridden in high rpms. Hence the KTM's "Ready to race"...

If I am not wrong, KTM will source'em in the near future. So, by the time your warranty gets over, you might.....,, if you know what I mean

Guys Check the "KTM India" page on FB, it says that the introductory price is only for the first batch of bikes, it will rise from the 2nd batch of bikes, so hurry up!!

"KTM India" page isn't official. "KTM - Ready to Race India" is the official page and that doesn't say anything like it. The other page is probably just created by some dealership guy to get more bookings :P

Yeah, but if it's not official then it's either some rumor or a wrong information (most likely since it would be a bad business decision by KTM).
Spreading this kind of info will just create more stress for people who have already booked the bike, unnecessarily worrying if they'll be in a first batch or they'll have to shell out considerably more money when their bike arrives...
And no one wants more stress.
