It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed.

test drove the D390 at bund garden ktm pune today.Feels upright cum sporty.sports a RORTY exhaust, enough to shame even apache(no offence, tvs, just comparison sake)
Motor is extremely rev happy and loves to sprint from the word go.The 35nm torque arrives SO powerful and urgent it kinda reminds me of some dirt bike!handling is very neutral,
neither urgent nor slow.brakes are very strong, specially the rear one.All in all a fun fun bike which acts like a 2 stroker even.Needs a careful and experienced rider though imho.

Had gone to KTM Marathalli today. The exec there said the bike has gone for service after 150+ ripped it during the weekend. Also seems there was an accident. Test rides will resume after 3 days at the Indiranagar showroom.
They're quoting an 'up to 90 days' owing to the strike.

Joel.r, In Mumbai, I'll be paying Rs 2.06 L on-road. The insurance is zero-dep, else it would have been around Rs 2.04L according to what I hear from other showrooms.
Thats what rain does to a 3 day old bike!

City use -- I'm planning to use the 390 for both city use and weekend long rides.
It's the other way around, the guy in the showroom is confused. Metzelers will last much less than MRFs.
Metzelers are really good, but it won't be cheap to have them...

heard a pair of Metzelers costs a whopping 22-25k..
and yea, they are of much softer compound the MRFs and would need replacement sooner..

                      Ride safe and have fun.

Metzelers are sport-touring tyres. They are dual compound with with a harder rubber in the centre to increase mileage and a softer compound rubber on the sides of the tyre for maximum grip. Not sure if they'll outlast the MRFs, but they are for sure durable by foreign standards

The duke 390 and 200, both come fitted with a 4" rear wheel.
If I may ask what are you planning? Why did you seek the info?

                              Why 2wheels over 4.....

                                IIRC it is 160.

It will be nice if we can get some cheaper replacement for these Metzelers. May be the Continentals if they are available at below 15k - Continental Motorcycle Tyres*-*ContiMotion
