What the D200 riders seem to miss is the low end torque. When they pretend to ride the bike like grandpa and put the bike in 6th gear at low speed and twist the throttle, they find the pull missing. Worse still, the bike even seems to knock due to the combined effect of lower mass flywheel, over-bored configuration and taller gear ratio.

Thus the D200 trumps the D390 on the grandpa test.

Keep it coming Dude..Didn't expect anything better ...If that makes you happy LOL..

beside the excitement of upgrading from discover 135 to duke 390 i am really worried abt fuel quality in kanpur , i enquired today at bharat petroleum outlet and he said normal fuel here is 87 ron , and speed also 87 ron but with some additives ( dont know exact as i am no eng ) , will ask tomorrow at IOC. i read that compression ratio for fuel is somewhere 12.6:1 so this means ( i assume ) that if by any chance we have left with no option other than to fill up with 87 ron , bikes engine will suffer , knock , and will produce more heat. and if i am true about last one than excess heat issue might be due to using normal fuel in test drive vehicles to save money by dealers ( i might be wrong , experts pls enlighten )

If there is a Knock sensor in the D390 then you don't have to worry about Petrol RON and knocking...the ECU will adjust the timing according to necessity and keep the engine from pinging...
Let a few bikes be delivered and used ..then we can "TRY" to understand it...

I don't think much importance should be given to reviews of test rides, like from day 1 and from 0 kms the bikes have been tested just for power, just imagine when we get our new bikes we never do it. Whatever u say any new bike needs a few hundred km's of settled rides but these test bikes are under pressure from day 1

Who said that? AFAIK, on their first day, they booked over 50. even before the bike was available for test ride, their numbers were almost a 100 and on the day they started test rides, it came up to 100. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. Do you think kanjurmarg has more?

Also, I have visited both showrooms and have found the Vashi one better. The best among the 3, IMO.

There have been 72 bookings in the South mumbai showroom. Kanjurmarg KTM showroom doesn't have a test bike. But the navi mumbai showroom guy tended to act oversmart. Tried to dupe me by lying he had fewer bookings and asked me to double book since I had already booked at the south mumbai showroom

Oh, didn't know that. Well did you speak to the owner or a sales guy? Because the owner is very much into customer service for sure. He is quite active through his KTM Navi Mumbai facebook page too.

Boss this is 200 not 390 just look at the tank it has duke written over it where as in 390 its written 390 and also there is no knuckle guard.

So the Duke 200 does 106kmph in 3rd gear, Cool!

This must be one of those test bike with 200 clothes to avoid unwanted attention!

                          That's what I'm talking about!
Just don't be shy to twist the throttle and it'll fly...
Cool. I guess I'll book it after all then...

Although, it would be almost impossible to tell if this is D200 or D390 if you watch only the first video! Same kind of ride...
I can see D390 starts slowing down at around 140 kmh, in a same way where D200 starts slowing down at 125 kmh.
It's "just" that D390 does everything in much shorter time...

I would like some clarification on the exhaust placement in this bike. It is almost at the lowest end of the bike unlike a conventional exhaust which at the level of chassis frame. How will this perform when riding on water logged roads during monsoons? There is every possibility of water entering the exhaust outlet even under 5 inches of water.
