Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is confident of growing in an ever slowing down market as they have 1 lakh orders in hand!

The company targets growth of 40% in FY14. HMSI expects sales of over 3.93 million units in FY 14. It expects 25% share of sales to come from its base models of Dream Neo, Dream Yuga and the Twister. Another indigenous 100cc from its Indian R&D is scheduled to hit the market soon. With the help of this, Honda hopes to hit 4.6 million units in FY15.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, senior vice-president (sales & marketing), Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India -

"The trust of the customer in the brand Honda is immense. The fact that most of the products are in good demand and on few of them, there is waiting, shows we have a strong demand from customers and that too at a time when the market is declining,"
"The umbrella in 100-110 cc segment for us is the Dream series, we could build the family further. The options are not closed for more 100 cc model, there is a huge potential for any brand to sell in this segment,"
Even in the motorcycle space, led by new mass segment models, HMSI's market share has jumped an identical 4% 11.76% in FY-13 to from 7.64% in FY-12, whereas Hero has seen its share dip 2.8% to 53.17% in FY-13.

The company claims its executive 125 cc motorcycle Shine as well as premium 150 cc -motorcycle Unicorn are still having some waiting period. Its first 100 cc mass market motorcycle Dream Yuga has managed to sell about 3 lakh units in the last one year and it has high expectation from the Dream Neo which is pitted straight at Hero MotoCorp's Splendor.

Holds true... look at the sales of Hero Motocorp and Bajaj in the past 3 months, it declined by 5 - 7% over the last financial year. While Honda sales increased by 10 - 12%. For that matter sales of Yamaha have also increased.

I was reading some where, Rajiv Bajaj said, Industry sales figures are not important for them, cause their focus will be on premium/ performance bikes. Hero Motocorp will definitely suffer in future with the new 100 - 125 cc launches from Honda stable.

the one thing Honda seems to be going down hill is the customer support and the service department. the service centers seems to be becoming more arrongant by the day due to the increase in volumes and the vehicle service seems to be getting worse with no effort being done to fix issues reported by users which i feel is a result of rapd growth

Indian manufacturers should forget no 1 and 2 spots because Honda will top it in a year or two and Yamaha might climb second spot if they launch another scooter or a proper 100cc...
