The Discover 125 T will feature the 4 valved Dtsi engine. Aswin Jaiknath, General Manager (South), Bajaj Auto, said that this motorcycle completes the range in the discover series along with the Discover 125ST and the Discover 100T. He claims that the 125T has 30% more power than the competition.

The bike will sport a 5 speed transmission, gas charged Nitrox suspension, petal disc brake, DC headlamp, and electric start. The Discover 125T will be available in 4 colours and two variants. The drum brake variant will be available at Rs 54022/- and the disk brake at Rs 57070/-, both prices being ex-showroom Chennai.

Bajaj expand Discover range further with the launch of the Discover 125T

CHENNAI, JULY 10:

Source: Bajaj Auto expands range of executive segment bikes | Business Line

This new Discover slots in between the Discover 100T and the Discover 125ST in terms of performance. Sharing parts with both bikes effectively keeping the prices competitive.

Slightly less powerful than the Discover 125ST, the Discover 125T engine produces Max Power of 12.5Ps @ 9000RPM and Max Torque of 10.8Nm @ 6500RPM. The bike shares its rear suspension with the Discover 100T and comes with a 110 mm Dual Nitrox rear suspension instead of the Nitrox Monoshock which the 125ST sports.

The bike will be available in 2 variants priced at Rs.54,022 for the dual drum brake and Rs 57,070 for the front disc brake variant. All prices ex-showroom Chennai.

The Discover 125T Disc brake version is priced barely Rs.539/- (Ex Showroom Chennai) less than the more powerful, Monoshock equipped Discover 125ST so I fail to see the sense behind Bajaj Auto making such a move. The only reason I could think of was that consumer acceptance of Monoshock suspension in this segment could be lower than dual shocks and maybe Bajaj Auto wanted to take the attached stigma out of the mind of their customer.

Anyways, Technical Specifications as per the website:

With the launch of this new Discover, apparently, Bajaj has decided to drop the Discover 150 DTSi(2-valve) from its lineup since it has gone missing from the Bajaj Auto website.

Re: Bajaj expand Discover range further with the launch of the Discover 125T

I think soon they will discontinue old discovers and launch 2 more stripped down versions of discover 100t and 125t or may be a new discover 135t/st or discover 150t/st.
@antz.bin...conventional shockers are ok but why did they detuned it....??? may be to justify that that gap of 539rs/- with conventional shockers and a slightly less powerful engine.....

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this move. Granted, most of us will pick up the Discover 125ST. Atleast those of us with functional brains and even limited motorcycling knowledge will. But the mass market has people who think disc brakes cause accidents, and more shocks means more value (think TVS MAX-4R ). If Bajaj can profit from them, why not ?

Well they could've simply launched the Discover 125ST (Dual Drum) variant and saved a lot of customer confusion.

Re: Bajaj expand Discover range further with the launch of the Discover 125T

WTF, Bajaj should think about giving better qualities to their present products rather than unnecessarily launching these kind of models which according to me is not at all necessary for a discover 125T, with this launch, we can guess the remaining discovers, all will be similar to look but with same/different cc and minor tweaks here and there. . .

Cheers!!!

Seems like customer confusion is last of Bajaj's priority. Have lost count of number of iterations for Discover. They should include one such question in KBC for 1000 bucks "How many Discover models has Bajaj launched till date?"

Yes, It's really a great bike. Discover 125 T is set to usher in a new age in commuting. With its ultimate combination of style, power and technology, the Discover 125 T is a lot more than just another bike. The T is positioned just under the more premium priced Discover 125ST, and attempts to reach out to a wider audience.
It is available in two trims, Bajaj Discover 125 T Drum variant priced at Rs 54,022/- while the bike is priced at Rs 57,070/-. Bajaj Discover 125T is powered by a 125cc, 4-valve, twin-spark engine that generates 12.5 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 10.8 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM.

I realise this may be minutiae to everyone else but I must say its amazing how merely changing the shade/texture of a single element (from silver to a dark gray) seems to have a remarkable effect on the stance of the whole bike. In my irrelevant opinion the pillion footrest seems to be out of place in terms of quality and the colour , the bright silver finish draws the eye towards it due to the contrast. Very interesting, probably just to me.
