The company had generated a turnover of Rs 1200 crore last year and hopes to increase that to Rs 1500 crore. South India contributes 40% of the Suzuki's Scooter sales and 25% of its motorcycle sales. The company hopes to increase its market share by 5% in both the segments. To this end, Suzuki has launched a new series of ads of the Hayate last week in the south. These ads will be aired across the country soon.

Suzuki has increased its capacity in its Gurgaon plant from 4.5 lakh units per annum to 5.6 lakh units.

      Damn waste!!!

Before pumping money to ads, I think Suzuki must focus on bringing in bikes which can turn its fortunes, like what FZ brothers did to Yamaha which was then struggling in the market.
They need to create a segment where they can pitch in and become a market leader. More so about Inazuma......I am putting my fingers crossed.

Piston_Head..... I fully agree with you. More over they have only one model that is not even in Motorcycle segment which is successful, its purely Scooter. Their motorcycle designs does not appeal enthusiastic.

With growing competition in 150 to 250cc motorcycle segment they need to position Inazuma in a different way altogether. And most important pricing will play a crucial role for Inazuma's success. Look what Bajaj is doing with their KTM twins and news confirms that twins will get full fairing in a days to come. Again Yamaha with FZ's and R15 and Honda with CBR 250R have already pulling the young crowd.

I think they(Suzuki) will not Launch Inazuma now because they already know it will be failure in market..

Waste of money!!! If the product is competitive & marketing strategy good enough to back it up, success beckons or else it is very unlikely the other way round. Urbanization is increasing & urban buyers have become way more smart to just simply absorb any Ad.

They already have GS150R, which I also purchased around 9 months back, and is quite competitive in every sector. But till now I have not seen a single Ad. of this bike.

(I did 5430 kms trip to Sikkim and Bhutan from Delhi on soloride and had no complaints except that at high altitude and cold conditions I did face starting problem). Otherwise I have no complaints so far and getting mileage of 55+ and atleast once every day I cross 100+ kms speed. What else can you expect from a 150 cc bike.

But till now I have not found more than a couple of GS 150R on road on a single day.

Gs150 is a good bike no doubt but they really need to launch a light 150cc bike..something like Fz and Cb Trigger..but they directly offer Gsx 1000R after Gs150 R which is funny..

Well said buddy.... If you ask me I would fire their designers and bring in some young blood who knows what we bikers thrive for .

Of Course no offense to the designers who work for Suzuki

No doubt GS150 is a good bike, with 6 speed gearbox makes it one of the good contender in its category. But we can`t make lack of advertisements as one of the prime reason for its debacle. If you look at the premium segment, it is already a crowded segment. With established players like Bajaj and Yamaha it is not an easy task to dethrone them and become a segment leader. What is essentially required from Suzuki`s stable is product with eye catching design and with affordable price. It can easily eat up some market share from the segment leaders.

Spending back 10% of their revenue in marketing and advertisement is very normal and obvious for any establishment. Compare this.. Pepsi and Coke spend almost 30-40% of their earnings on promotions and marketing worldwide. Good product or bad product, brand MUST be visible for everyone to see, try and create an opinion about. Its simple MBA stuff.

Also, 120 crores on advertisements is peanuts for an automobile company specially serving business in India. Please understand that.

Everywhere suzuki just wants to cash in on Hayabusa's name. I still remember when they launched Swift, they said the engine was inspired from Busa!
