HMSI is rolling like anything. In couple of years they can very well surprass Hero Moto but that would depend on the performance of the under-development engines from Hero Moto matching the aura of the current engine lineup.

Shocks me to see the kind of sales by Hero. I hardly see any of their new bikes on the road, how long will people buy 30 year old technology of Splendor, Passion when much better bikes are available?

Thanks Monk. The charts and tables are clearly showing who is leading in the front. If we can get sales numbers of Royal enfield, Suzuki and Mahindra then we can get a complete picture.
Honda sales is amazing. Right now Honda should get aggressive and introduce a cruiser, a premium scooter (150cc), a low cost bike (40k range) and a bike in 200cc range.
Even though hero motor has increased sales they lost 1% in total sales compared to last year. Hero should pull up their socks. Its been 3 years since Honda left and they don't have a single bike with other engine.
Bajaj is losing because of brand and service image. Rajiv Bajaj should spend some money to clarify that.
TVS the less said the better. They are becoming the Tata of motorcycle world.
Yamaha should hire people who are interested in increasing their sales in India.

Splendor, Passion still give the same mileage as compared to the much better bikes of today.

Most people do not want to even know about the latest bikes in that range available today, all they know is Splendor and Passion are still being sold and they are still the best.

Honda sales not only jump in bikes but also in car segment to 72% due to "Amaze" power...

Bajaj sales down probably down because of the month long strike they had. They might gain in September.

Honda seems to have pushing their luck the Hero way. Same engine and new plastics. Its a worked way that has helped Hero for many years.

Hero, I will be surprised if they only have sold less bikes when compared to last month. 2014 will be real year to gauge the measurements for Hero.

to Honda for their good sales this time and Hero, you should be watching this. . . If it continues like this, then Honda will be the No1 manufacturer while Hero will be nowhere in the competition at all. . .

                  Cheers!!!

In spite of launching Good looking & powerful Discover bikes, Bajaj is still unable to take lead in sales...whereas Honda going strong.. it Gives impression that people still prefer Brand image then anything else...

Honda is growing but its not denting sales of Hero..mostly it affected Bajaj..So Hero will remain on top for many more years as after a limit Honda will find it hard to stretch its sales any further without taking any radical steps.

& people still buy bikes like splendor because they still believe in its reliability, easy to maintain as parts are readily available even in local market, mileage & nothing much they want..& talking about passion series..the new passion pro is quite good in its segment having twister's engine rather than earlier horizontal heart.

hope new crop of Hero will do well also.

Bajaj is the scam in motorcycle business. They promise so much more and deliver so little. Quality and after sales service is absolutely next to nothing.
I know they get very few repeat customers. I personally after getting Pulsar 200 NS vow to never buy a bajaj bike ever again.
