this color scheme from yamaha is simply superb.....

i wish it was available on r15 i would happily buy one just because of these colors

I am really wondering what the hell is wrong with Yamaha. It's been 8 years since the R6 and FZ1 have had a significant update and it's going to be 9 now with the only change being a new colour scheme. Disappointing!

I am with you on this man. All they have been doing lately is just coming up with new liveries rather than updates.

people love it when yamaha keep on releasing different colors one after another but hate it or start making fun when others do the same :sad:

I came across web reports last year about Yamaha having an already upgraded version of the R6, when people were desperate for a new model.
They simple can't afford to invest in the production of a new model just like that. The reason they never launched it till now is because the sales of 600s was dipping and its still not up to the expected number that it was compared to 2002-2005 period. After the recession in 2008, sales have really dropped and even though 1000ccs are selling, it's still more than 600s. Consider this, 600cc for around 11000$ and 1000cc for 14500$. European and USA market is the biggest market for Yamaha big bikes. Not only Yamaha but all big bikes. Now the people who used to buy 600 generally upgraded to 1000 after a few years. After recession, that is not the trend being observed. Yamaha says, they had more new riders buying R1s rather those coming in to exchange the R6. So you see, New Yamaha R1s are being sold more, R6s being exchanged less and new customers for R6 hasn't improved.
At the end it's business, they won't do something cos people like it. They would do it, if it sells.
Even if people don't buy R1 to ride, it's still being sold to competition teams. Super sport class competitions are less in number throughout the world, compared to superbike competition. That's where the 1000s flourish.
Yamaha is not a big enough company to follow the trends of it's competitors like Honda or Suzuki, Both of these also sell cars and are doing good at that. Yamaha's main business is 2 wheelers and musical instruments, they are bound to take careful steps unlike the competition names stated above. That's why Honda has launched the new CBR600 this year and others still falling back. Honda can still launch a new model a couple of years from now if they like, but that's not the case with Yamaha.
So that's your reason for Yamaha being "wrong"

Although I'm not a Yamaha fan, but since I like the R6 I did search for it's upgraded model last year to find out when is it coming and found this information.

Agreed mate, but I am not being specific to 600cc and 1000cc. Consider the Indian market, demand for 250 is increasing day by day and still no sign of any 250cc or more from Yamaha, just rumors.
The upgrade they bought to R15 was commendable but still a 250cc from Yamaha would storm the Indian market I believe.
600cc has always been a tricky segment and after recession it has become even more tricky but still they are loosing out to others by not upgrading R6 which as you say is ready for an upgrade and I hope it happens soon
