the 848 panigale wont have any advantage over the japanese bikes ...
because when u sit down compare the cost of the bike in the first place --u can buy liter class for the same cost and bmw s1000rr(i think if this bike came to india it would cost around 25 lakhs and u can get beemer for 21 and we all know what that can do)

this is the results of the reviews from all the sites i have been reading,i have ranked them as, and here is my conclusion--

1.BMW s1000rr(no words everyone knows what it can do)
2.kawasaki zx -10r(hardcore purebred race machine for trackdays and the fastest jap superbike ..period)
3.gixer 1000 (best of both worlds-gives ample street riding comfort and good track performance too,the reason why its the highest selling superbike in america)
4.honda cbr1000rr (more comfortable than gixxer decent track performer and its slightly soft ,meaning it wont try to kill you everytime u ride it)
5.Yzf -r1 (slowest on track and least comfortable of all,but boy its a looker quite simply unanimously agreed as the best looking sbk on planet)

and last but not the least the ducati .. i mean its fast no doubt but then u r paying almost double the price of the above mentioned bikes + maintainance sky high
and BTW a ducati in india ..dont get hopeful

and i have no grudge against ducati ..they look beautiful, they are fast and the reason a person buys a ducati is that it is a"DUCATI" but when u tend to compare it when others it falls behind a bit..

Buddy, my only point was that, on some racetracks, 600s are faster than 1000s. So, its quite possible that this bike might actually prove better, after being equipped with aftermarket and race level stuff. I know Ducatis are expensive.

Think about it, its not as wide as a typical inline 4. Plus, its techno packed. Could it be a big thing, up there with the best? Because History & MotoGP has taught us that winning is not always about horsepower.

i agree with you
u purchase harley beacause of its legacy and the history that comes along with it
same is with ducati ,it comes with it own set of history ,moto gp legends (i call it perks)

this will be at par with 600 cc japs.. when the going gets twisty smaller capacity bikes (600cc) shine because they are flick-able,corner hard, weight less ,accelerate to around 150-180 kph in same time as liter class
so on a track with lots of corners and less straights they can be as quick as or quicker than their bigger counterparts

i hope ducati price this one properly if launched in india sub 20 lakh..just read somewhere that panigale 1198 s will be around 40 lacs.. (thats ex showroom only)

Technically they are called horizontally placed rear suspension, unless companies give them their own name. I guess you missd the Panigale 1199 which sports the same.

The Ninja ZX10R also has similar (not exactly) placed horizontal suspension. These are more responsive and reactive to bumps when placed horizontal.

Yes !!! Really nice,, but If Ducati is Ferrari then a beamer is like a Bugatti in Superbike world.

Strange and surprising..

Since we don't have a Ducati dealership in NCR anymore, I called Ducati Chandigarh to enquire about Diavel's Availability and I was disappointed to hear that ... No new Ducati's are being imported into India right now. Both Chandigarh and Mumbai dealerships will be closing down, temporarily maybe!

The reason he says is that the authorised importer is having some issues and it may take 1-2 years for things to get back on track and then we can buy a Ducati through legal channel.

This is what the guy available on the website listed number told me about 2 weeks back..
