I was working at the front office of my company located bang opposite of Atria Mall, in CeeJay house. There were news of Atria getting closed down. Now with the ducati showroom coming up those news are not true for sure.

Ducati to open first showroom in Mumbai in Summer

Italian bike maker Ducati Motor Holding will open its first showroom in Mumbai in the summer.

"We want to have one showroom in every metro," Precision Motor CEO Ashish Chordia told reporters. Precision Motor is the distributor of Ducati in India.

After Mumbai, showrooms would come up in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore in the next twelve months, he said.

In 2008, Ducati sold 45,000 bikes globally and it has been a good year for it, Ducati's CEO and President Gabriele Del Torchio said.

"India will not be a major market for Ducati now. But it will be five years from now," he said.
I've heard that ducati bikes are costly like hell. Heard that the 1098 is around some 18 lakhs. and monster around 20 lakhs.. Is this true?
A fact -- It takes more love to share the pillion seat, than to share the bed.

The 1098 R is not a race replica - it's the real deal. A 180hp, 99 lb-ft (134Nm), L-Twin Testastretta Evoluzione engine in a race-winning Trellis chassis setup tips the scales at a featherweight 165kg (364lbs) and comes with Ducati Corse's world championship winning traction control system for the road.

The Ducati 1098 R comes with a race kit (intended strictly for track use only) which boosts power output from 180 to approximately 186hp. The kit consists of a 102dB carbon fibre slip-on muffler kit by Termignoni and a dedicated ECU.

The 1098 R is equipped as standard with Ducati Data Analyzer (DDA) which evaluates the performance of the bike and its rider by recording numerous channels of data including throttle opening, vehicle speed, engine rpm, engine temperature, distance traveled, laps and lap times and automatically calculates engine rpm and vehicle speed to record gear selection. A new channel now records the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) index, presenting it as a graphic trace indicating the amount of interaction during wheel-spin. After a ride or track session, an upgraded 4mb of data can be downloaded to a PC to analyze the performance of rider and motorcycle.

The Ducati 1098 R features gold-colored, lightweight Marchesini wheels, a single-sided aluminium swingarm which is finished in gloss black to match the lower bodywork. Up front are 43mm Ohlins forks, a magnesium front subframe, Brembo Monobloc calipers, and a comprehensive instrument panel which acts as control panel for the DDA and DTC.

Can u get all this in the Accord??? Game? That's the reason behind that pricing
