Re: Hero takes car technology to two-wheelers: xBhp News

What... Integrated braking System, Braking when one brake is applied? Again copying from Honda's CBS braking system and Hero tells all innovations are done by Hero R&D. Totally liars.
After Hero parted ways with Honda, nobody trusts Hero tech unless they come up with a gem of an engine and design there products with style of today's bikes and scooters. Until then the not-known people buys a Hero!
Some features that the company will soon introduce in its two-wheelers include the engine stop-start system and the electronic immobiliser.

the IBS which Hero is going to add in their scooter line up, is already being used by Honda Activa, where it is known as Combined braking system (Brake lever on right hand side of the handle bar is used for the combo brake).

both brakes being applied by a single lever has been done by other companies, fine. But the way its done also matters. honda activa method is the most primitive method. hero may have a different method. Lets wait and watch.

what is 'primitive' about it ? Are you expecting something on the lines of a electronically controlled combi braking system ? on a scooter ? by hero ?
the respect i had for karizma was lost on seeing the 'new/refreshed' pics on the other thread..

abhi7013 Are you really expecting something like that...brakes being controlled electronically....Hero has always been a company which caters to mass...so they are going to adopt what honda is offering...they are not going infuse a rocket science in it.

You are probably correct.. but lets not under estimate hero here.. we will never know whats in their mind...

I dont think a biker will ever lose respect for another bike.. what is there to lose respect when you havent seen the product in flesh yet...

It may not be appealing like the duke or fz or a R15..

Hero bikes were never photogenic.. they look horrible on pics.. but in flesh they look better than in pics.. lets not judge what a manufacture can do or cannot do..

Cheers,

Bro, if they say they are going to patent it, then is it not obvious that the method has to be different? How can anyone patent an existing technology? And I've never claimed any electronic controlled method. Its just maybe mechanical but more effective. Maybe.

err.. i read once how HONDA PCX 125cc model was released in 2010 to be sold in Europe with micro-hybrid technology
intergrated braking system also sounds like combined braking system in HONDA(not exactly same, but pretty much does the same thing)..
maybe its me,but hero has honda somewhere in the back of the mind, hopefully it will result in better "indigenous" products form the worlds largest splendor/motorcycle makes

The same feature installed in Scorpio, did not make substantial difference, apart from irritating the driver after the novelty wears out. See very few Hybrid badged Scorpios now.
to be honest the savings in fuel is only about 5-8% from what I remember. But imagine how much fuel we would save if all vehicles on road followed this . In scorpio, from what I have read it seems that the engine is not completely turned off, one of the four cylinders still compresses diesel and produces power to keep the aircon running. Remaining 3 cylinders just reciprocate whilst idle.
This is a nifty feature if the system is robust, and trust me the cost is dead cheap, especially on a large scale.
No its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!
