re: Family in SUV attacked by bikers: xBhp News

Anyone that thinks this drivers actions weren't justified is an idiot. What would you do if you were surrounded by a gigantic group of bikers on the highway? Not to mention several were off of their bikes and approaching the drivers side door. I'd call that self defense. The bikers were driving like idiots to begin with and the guy driving the SUV had good reason to be irritated. If I had a bunch of dickhead bikers stop me on the highway in a threatening manner I'd run someone over too. Seriously, he was within his rights.

Whoever the marshals of this group doesnt know a damn thing about group riding! You can't even organize a 2 lane ride to avoid this from happening.

And one more thing They BOUGHT BIKES NOT THE WHOLE DAMN ROAD!!

Agree completely. Who said only Indian bikers lacked traffic sense? These bikers were all over the road, and there were over 50 of them swarming the road occupying all the available lanes. They call that an 'organized rally'? Shame on the 'organizers'.
Had I been with my wife and kid in a car, I too would have tried to escape by whatever means possible. The report says one of the bikers was paralyzed after the SUV ran over his back in an attempt to escape. What exactly was he trying to do infront of that SUV? Trying to be a human barrier? Superman? No sir, he was just another of the bunch, involved in hooliganism and roadrage. He himself is to blame, and nobody else.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

...who's responsible for that guy who's in the bed in the hospital and who cannot walk for his lifetime. . ? Who's gonna care for him. . . As I made my statements earlier, there is wrong from both's end but just because you feel threatened, . . If you think that the SUV guy is right then I feel what the bikers did is also right, thrashing him up but what I felt was wrong from the bikers side is fleeing after they hit him, it's more like hit and run, they should had called up the cops and handed him over to them instead of fleeing from the scene, including leaving their fellow biker on the road. . .

        ...

To the part in bold, exactly. You will be ready to "pay them back in the worst way they can imagine" without any remorse. The SUV guy, in all likeliness, felt a similar threat for his wife and kid when he was surrounded by the much larger biker group. But you feel sorry for that idiot biker who is in hospital! What happened to him is the doing of his own group and nobody else's. Tell me, is it a friendly sign to damage a vehicle?! How threatened would you feel if your vehicle was being damaged just because you accidentally hit someone on the road who remains absolutely unhurt?

My questions were not directed to you, so you don't have to answer them. I was sharing my opinion.

As someone who has been in a similar situation, I can tell you that you have no other option but to keep on driving. They are not going to shake hands with you anyway.
And I'm very glad to see most of the fellow xbhpians understanding the situation and they definitely made some very sensible observations.

But it's still sad to see a few members reacting immaturely. Bikers in India generally lack road manners and sense but an XBHP ian shouldn't because he has the exposure to knowledge.
And that RRover he drove is a lot more capable than any so called 'super bikes'. If he ain't stopping you have no chance of stopping him. The guy only tried to escape and in that process hurt some people. He could have caused a lot more damage if he really wanted to.

re: Family in SUV attacked by bikers: xBhp News

The fact that the Suv guy DIDN'T call the cops says a lot about his intentions. If anybody is with family feels threatened by other people in a situation, a sane guy would logically call the cops first, while making a run for it also maybe but surely he would call the cops. Here the story looks different. Anyway, nobody knows the whole story like words exchanged/ abuses etc so...

I don't know how to react to the post above. An appropriate reply would result in a mod's intervention. I will try to be polite.
Brother, have you been in any such emergency situations? I think you haven't. ANY person in such a situation will try to flee and will be looking around to see what's happening. And what do you think his intentions were? Just roam around the city with the bikers chasing him or crash into a few more of them? I just cant understand. In such a situation you wont be able to multitask either. You can only focus on one thing. And how do you know he or his wife didn't contact anyone? I guess you were not in the backseat of that SUV .

That's a really misleading tittle for this post , especially after seeing the video. Sad to see this tittle from a biking forum like this. A guy can do just about anything to a biker just because he has an SUV and family? It's disappointing.

Something to console the bikers (and I liked this one too, but practically impossible in India, unless it's midnight)
