I wld definitely consider buying a bike like the sr400 if its made in india. A price tag of 2l acceptable. There are still people like me who love the simplicity of a retro japaneese bike.Originally posted by Satellite.kid View PostMT07 is a parallel twin
Secondly, the SR400 is a very basic motorcycle by today's standards. It doesn't have an electric start, only kick start; moreover, it has single disc brake only at front, rear is drum. Engine is air cooled producing only 24 bhp. Whether imported and assembled here or whatever, it's can't be priced over 2 lakhs in any way and that is the maximum price it can manage in my opinion. Infact, anything even close to 2 lakh on-road figure will be absolutely undesirable.
Lord knows there are enough "Modern" bikes around. Any company that launches a good retro looking bike is bound to have some takers. Anything which has a propper jap 4t engine.
I wish someone launches a retro looking parallal twin. Thats another issue. Whats with all the big singles.. A single cyl engine always lags behind a twin or multi cyl engine in torque delivery and refinement. Why not a twin then at say about 50k more...
