Last to last year, we heard that some journalists got a test ride of some TVS Apache RTR bikes on some brand new compound TVS tyres, which were told by journalists as "softer & grippier" than the normal TVS Srichakra tyres. Some of those were dual compound tyres too, with the double objectives of long life and cornering grip. But, the typical perception of TVS Srichakra tyres are "hard, durable, non grippy" tyres. Will these new production tyres help change that perception?
TVS tyres, one of the largest selling 2 & 3 wheeler tyre brand in the country, recently launched four motorcycle tyres that will suit most of the needs in the two wheeler segment. The Madhrai-based tyre manufacturer have unveiled their tyre portfolio across the 100cc, 125cc and 200cc motorcycle segments in India.
The Jumbo GT and Jumbo PT tyres are designed for the 100cc segment, they come with a bold pattern and wide channeling grooves that provide good traction and grip for an array of Indian road conditions. Next up is the Pancer Poly X with a block pattern design for water drainage, is built with polyester casing providing structural stability which is suited for 125cc commuter motorcycles.
Last up is the ATT 230R which has been specifically designed for bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS. With a contemporary design and additional rubber contact with the ground, this tyre provides adequate road holding capability and also inspires confidence while cornering at high speeds.
TVS Tyre has consistently focused towards extensive R&D and technological innovation to develop products in response to customers’ needs thereby offering a compelling proposition. Safety, durability, fuel efficiency are amongst the key decisive factors for Indian drivers while buying tyres. TVS with its new offering is aiming to deliver that to the customers and will continue to strive towards developing products that address customer needs.
This ATT 230R is what some enthusiasts might look at remotely, if they don't have other options. All depends on this tyre's performance. Let's hope this effort of TVS Srichakra ends up being recognised. See its image below and let me know what you think about this rear tyre:
