re: Suzuki Gixxer 155 and Suzuki Let's Launched: xBhp News

not a single visible thing from GS150R
    Totally different engine (look wise)
    different indicatiors
    foot pegs
    disk
    console
    back and front light.
    gear leaver
    silencer
    rear break pedal.

So in my view, it is totally different.
    only similar in capacity range.
    thanks.

I can't see that carburettor, where is it hiding? However post#5 shows it... must be an artist's first impression.

Motorcycle Starter(induction) Motor Mitsuba(presumed) shifted to front!

Seems GS150R engine/transmission has been tweaked for peppy/zippy city rides.

Just 850ml of engine oil, what it has to say about long hauls on this bike? esp being air cooled.

True that, says it all. As if the designer has suddenly gone on leave and the other engineers used something from the old parts bin. Personally, am ok as long as it does it's job, considering the rest of the bike looks yum!

Btw, is this still 6 speed? And one thing to known from a road test later - is the engine as smooth as the GS150R?

Even the outgoing GS150R had a beauiful and very well laid out console. Full marks to Suzuki.

You gotta see this bike in Flesh to believe it. It Looks just perfect!
Looks a lot like a 250cc in flesh.

Two thumbs up to suzuki from me for bringing in this beautiful bike. Finally their beautiful engines meet a equally beautiful external design.

              - There's a RPM light, suggesting ECO & PWR modes.
              - Vertical Fuel gauge indicator
              - And what's that 405 supposed to mean?
              - SEP : Suzuki Eco Performance; just another catchy term/abbr/acronym

Oh yeah, I think Suzuki won't drop overdrive 6th gear from their flagship(s) in India.

Console is great and with gear position indicator too much for 150cc bike I think but very helpful... The thing I liked most is rear rubber 140/60 is damn huge.... Bike looks beefy from behind.. loved it.

ok, fully digital speedo console added to th elist of things i like on this bike, that makes a total of 3 items.

and my god, a 140 section rear tyre on a 155cc bike....ok FZ16 also has a fat rear tyre, but that biked has got body muscle to carry it off with elan.

It's not a eco/pwr mode, it's the shift light which lights up at the optimum shifting RPM. This feature exists on the GS150R as well.

This bike looks like it's a mixture of many bikes, the front headlight looks like FZ's, the other bits surrounding it looks like pulsar's, the rear end definitely looks like that of a Honda CBR's,

Look here, both look the same. . .

Mann seriously they have copied from so many bikes but still gave a wonderful product at the end. . .

Waiting for the power figures of this bike and most importantly test ride . . .

                          Cheers!!!

What I got from the net. This new bike has:
                            Bybre front disk.
Speedo sensor on engine side sprocket.
Engine red lines at 9500(less refined than GS150R???)
Locks have more levers than usual (more secure.)
                            New style in keys also.
Engine head is different from Gs150R

But still waiting for official spec sheet.

I can't help but picture dangling front/rear indicators on this bike, broken during hustle in city traffic.

                              wait, where's the Catalytic Converter?
Does that second nozzle/muzzle suggests anything?

                              Yeah, similar; I own a GS150R since Dec-2010

Not really. The headlamp shape is trademark Suzuki. That headlamp shape is very common across most faired Suzukis including GSX1250FA (Bandit), the 2014 GSX1000R. GSX750F, GSXR600 and Indian commuter models like GS150 and Slingshot too.

And tail matching CBR? No mate, look closely, it's way sharper, angular and sexy. Comparing it to a CBR tail is like comparing a Pulsar 135's taillamp to a 200NS, just because they are similar.

The exhaust is really most intriguing spec. What's with the one-pipe-into-two layout? Has Suzuki really done some R&D and come up with something to improve power/torque?
