Well, the FZ/Fazer engine is more of a commuter engine in a fancy body. The state of tune is however, a bit better than most commuters.

In his post he mentioned GSXR150, not just a regular 150 with fairing. If it is a GSXR, we can be pretty sure that it will have a liquid cooled, fuel injected engine with high revving capabilities. In other words, it will be a scaled down supersport, not just a commuter with fairing. So, a GSXR should indeed be compared to an R15, not a Fazer.
Thats exactly what I was talking about. I didn't respond further to stop all the OTs Also Fazer is not a full faired. it is a semi faired like the LML Adreno, Karizma and the P220
      Splendor - 2k to 2006
      Karizma - 2k3 to 2009
      P180 - 2k6 to 2k9

      ZMR - 2010 to Forever
      RX135(2k) - 2013 to 2018
      Ninja 250R (2010) - 2016 til now

@All who wants to know about 150-300 or maybe upto 500 cc GSX-R are planned for India or Not.. Here is your Answer - "As of now they (Suzuki) are considering this as a Very-small (rather Tiny) market, and they are concentrating on a bigger customer base in India. So, they are not planning for a Pure Performance based Gixxer any time soon."
I know that this is a SAD news for many of us.. I, myself was so disappointed that I could not help myself from putting up a point in front of him with Yamaha's example on How R15 turned their fortune in India when they were vanishing out from the market. On that, all they said was "we are looking for number.. R15, CBR150/250 and Ninja 300 sales figures are not very big... we need to build a strong base product lineup first which will give us a gain in sales volume and that is what we are concentrating right now.."

So, my next question was.. "When we can see the actual Gixxer siblings ranging between 150-300?" to which they replied "We are still studying the market... and stuff like that..". Now, this could mean 2 things:
        1. They don't have any plans for the smaller GSX-R's for Indian market any sooner.
        2. They are going to launch these bikes. However, they want to keep it a secret and then Surprise us.

Ahhh.... Adreno.... Brings back so many memories.

Regarding the gixxer155. It looks like suzuki didnt do much designing on their own and borrowed a lot of design aspects from other existing bikes. Like sz, p135, cbr. It looks well put together. But it is a long way from being a design beauty like the fz which it is targetting.

A lot will depend on the pricing. Also, suzuki needs to beef up their service and spare network before they get in to a few new models.

Anyone has any idea why the engine oil capacity is only 850ml? Thats even less than a 100cc bike.

Look here, both look the same. . .

Mann seriously they have copied from so many bikes but still gave a wonderful product at the end. . .

Waiting for the power figures of this bike and most importantly test ride . . .

            Cheers!!!
Not much similar for me. Yes perspective/angle is very similar.

Its really not easy to make a bike look extremely different from all bikes made till date and be sensible with business goals at the same time.

We are looking at a budget 150 cc bike after all.

My only complaint is about the name. They should have kept it GS 150 R

We however have an awkward way of changing names in refresh in India. More because the brand lacking cult.

if its a GSX R 1k, they just need to say the model year like, GSX R 1000 -2014 model.

manufacturers are desperate to announce "hey this is a new product"

            Same happened with Honda trigger.

Coming back, this bike looks good. Should get reasonable sales if they make reasonable advertisement campaigns.

Why they are afraid to speak in terms of HP rather than cc?
reminds me of some launch with this words: "xxx cc of raw power!!!"

Firstly, you need to resize your pics and post them again, not able to view them. . .

Speaking about the GSX150R with whom exactly did you ask these questions. . ? The company or the managers or SVC guys or someone else. . ?

I guess they will be studying it until they are completely doomed in the Indian market , seriously if they had knew that, they would had given us a GSX150R sports bike with a price tag of around 1.20-1.25 lac and would start counting their sales increasing and not launching some models like Inazuma which doesn't have almost anything, just a high class commuter with a hefty price tag of which almost NIL is bothered to take a look at it. . .

The launch of the new Gixxer is sure a welcome as this is something new and good, if priced right they can sure expect good sales or even great, who knows. . .

At the end, if they are not going to launch a GSX150R soon then why did they make a statement that a GSX150R will be coming to India soon. . ? Still so many questions to ask but presently, this seems quite enough. . .

Gixxer is still better than the ridiculous R15 v2. Common that sounds like a code release or something
                Will we have a R15 v3 later?
Also people riding a hunk should get a wink or two from mischief mongers

Manufacturers come up with stupid explanations to justify their marketing spiel.

I was once told ,when asked why the trellis frame of the KTM 200 is not orange as in the RC/990, that only 600 CC above would have the orange signature.
Now how do they differentiate the 200 from 390? Oh yes, orange trellis and rims.
Manufacturers would not blink twice in slapping a name/lineage/color combo if they think would lead to higher sales. So the VFR 250 is CBR 250 since VFR comes not even close to the CBR moniker, R15 v2, probably to announce that the newer version is much different than the older one and gixxer may be a punchier name than the GS. Personally I feel it sounds strange, but should be fine for our common junta

People calling it a 155cc bike while someone posted a pic earlier which reads 150cc. I am confused.

Low mileage of fz was always a concern for the masses. If this pulls up around 50 fz has some serious trouble ahead.. cb trigger never gave it any competition in terms of look.

I am also interested to see the brand of tyres it has. Fz lovers were searching for 140/60 tyres but only had mrf revz as an option. This tyre has different treads. Lets see the brand now.

Not sure by how much it will be able to better FZ on mileage front considering it also uses that fat rubber.
