i remember reading rave reviews all over,the powerful engine,the fun dynamics and power outputs that were comparable to international 125ccs...the bike was just in the wrong market.like democracy,market gives the consumer what they deserve.
but seriously,they should not have more than 6 variants of discover 3 engine specs,not 18

Honda introduced shine in 2005, and they have sold 30 lakh units till now,according to an automotive site in the first year they only sold 1.17 lakh units, 94000 units of shine was sold in march 2014 alone,shine has only got two versions with disc brake and without disc brakes, bringing variants after variants shows that the manufacturer is not sure of his product, what is the use of so many variants when very soon all of them will be taken away from the market, the company should more concentrate on proper study of the market, what people want from commuter segment motorcycle, plus the reliability of the product.

It isn't a joke to buy 100000₹ + bike.
It isn't faring bike, So typical Indians looks at it as why the hell it costs 100000+₹ ..?
And the biggest reason, Dude I'm getting 20cc more and faring and a exhaust wali bike with 3000₹ less rupee aka pulsar 220, why would I buy some cheap 20cc lower 3000₹ costlier pulsar that doesn't even have a exhaust. .?

The day I don't ride, I just breathe..

Discover 125ST also has the same story .
My friends father preferred a Honda shine stating that it has dual suspension to carry load .
There are a very few youngsters to buy a 100or 125 cc sporty machine .
Bajaj should cater what the market needs it can't change the market sentiments easily .

You just can't beat a Bajaj. Because by the time you intend to overtake it, its already stopped in production

and the next discover you see is a new one being launched. And just when I thought the list looked exhaustive in terms of permutations and combinations, here Bajaj pulls a rabbit out of its hat: A brand new Discover 150F

Out of those 14 only 6 are alive which means bajaj discontinued .8 model per year or you can say 1 discover after every 15 months (approx) on an average.

I think bajaj should launch discover with following names so that customers can choose the required bike easily:

1. Discover 100
(a) Discover P (p stands for power)
(b) Discover PM (power and mileage)
(c) Discover M (mileage)

2. Discover 125
(a) Discover P (p stands for power)
(b) Discover PM (power and mileage)
(c) Discover M (mileage)

3. Discover 150
(a) Discover P (p stands for power)
(b) Discover PM (power and mileage)
(c) Discover M (mileage)

This way bajaj will be able to manage things easily without confusing and irritating people. At the same time they can keep themselves happy and entertained with making half a bhp or 1 bhp difference between P, PM and M models

3.discover 110 comes in which is just the same discover 125 model when it comes to looks but equipped with a non dtsi 110cc engine which takes its base from the caliber series 111cc engine unit and a 4speed box which was the first time on the discover brand and the only one version of the discover to come equipped with the same prior to discover 100 4g.
4.discover 135-all black theme,disc brake option,electric start,o-ringed chain and rear shocks become nitrox gas charged like pulsars.
5.Discover 125 and 110 gets discontinued and discover 135 gets an upgrade in which it gets subtle styling changes ,digital analogue meter combo,o ringed chains give away to normal chains with full chain cover ,a rim sticker, and a distinctive looking integrated front indicator on tank scoop.
6.discover 100 5G gets launched with a new platform engine unit based on XCD's engine platform with dts-si technology( offset positioned twin plugs) and 135's nitrox shocks which becomes a standard feature on discover brand then on.
7.discover 135 gets discontinued and discover 125 gets re launched within the xcd engine platform.
8.discover 150 gets launched discover 100 gets slight change in the plug positioning going to normal from dts-si's offset setup and also a 4 gear cheaper option called 4G is also provided simultaneously.
9.discover 125 st gets launched in 2012 which marks the beginning of second gen discovers with more contemporary design,nitrox gas charged mono shock,o ringed chain,petal disc brakes,4 valve dtsi engine which is next natural evolution for the xcd originated dts-si engine.
10 Discover 100 T comes in as a fun segment leading powerful expensive premium option at the 100 cc space which is just a discover 125 st with a slightly lower rear, a bigger mudguard and regular nitrox twin shocks and 5 speed equipped.

Discover 125 ST gets taken off the shelf due to poor sales due to reasons like high seat height.

We must share this list with the Bajaj people. I am sure that they don't have one and if this actual one is below their expectations, they will launch a few many more models. If it exceeds their expected list, they will discontinue some of the existing ones. And if they still fall short, they might as well discontinue, oh wait, first they launch a few more models with the intent of discontinuing them.

It will be available, but there will be delay in the shipment, etc. The company is bound to supply the spares for 5/10/15 years after stopping the production. Not that Bajaj gives a damn about customers before phasing out a bike

The recent ST, T, M and now the S and F Discovers are clearly based on a common platform with small differences..

..therefore I don't think spares would be an issue. Even the monoshock of the 125ST should be on the new 150S and 150F.
