In just a span of 26 months, the Dream series has emerged as a preferred choice for a million Indians. Since 2012, Honda's share in the 100-110cc segment has increased by a huge 400% (2%-8%), making it the fastest growing segment for Honda.

Speaking on this achievement, Yadvinder S Guleria, VP sales & marketing, HMSI, said, "With our increased network in rural India, we are confident Dream series shall further expand its wings specially with our latest addition 'CD 110 Dream'."

In 2012, Honda unleashed its first big step towards mass mobility in India --Dream Yuga. Backed by regular value additions and Honda Eco Technology (HET), Dream Yuga is now well accepted.

In April 2013, Honda unveiled the much awaited second 'Dream Series mass motorcycle'- the 110cc DREAM NEO. It successfully broke the clutter of "Me too" motorcycles in this segment and catered to the needs of the Indian mass model riders who aspire for an expression of individual identity believing strongly in themselves as "Apni Film ka Superstar".

Despite the highly competitive market, in a very short-span the Dream Series has set the benchmark for this industry segment. Very recently, as a part of strategic expansion in hinterland through the basic sub-segment of 100-110cc motorcycle, Honda launched its most affordable motorcycle in India - The CD 110 Dream.

To rejoice 10 Lac Dream milestone, HMSI has announced the 'ONE MILLION DREAM CELEBRATION' OFFER giving customers yet another joy in owning a Honda Dream motorcycle. Through this limited period offer customers can avail free insurance and attractive finance scheme of up to 100% loan to value. The offer is valid only for Dream Yuga & Dream Neo for a limited period till August 31.

Oh my word... I knew it was a big number by the amount of Yugas we saw on the street and they way they aggressively marketed the ride... It also rides surprisingly nimble and well. But a million units... wow... short span to punch through a very solid segment. They must be celebrating, shows that well made motorcycles will always have a market.... they started the Dream Yuga capaign when the economic scene was jagged and rather worrying.

Honda has got what they wanted. The yuga series is a big success after the legendary Shine!

They always get what they want. Honda is going to be number one I fee. It's not a matter of if but when

Honda (HMSI) has the (if i may say) liberty to pull out feathers from its hat at will.. thanks to their vast collection of engines worldwide and coupled with their local manufacturing they are doing brisk business ! they have all the advantage they need (after sales service being the sore thumb like any other player in the Indian market) starting from entering the Indian market as partners with Kinetic and Hero to launching HMSI at the right time during what i would term as the 'turning point' in the Indian biking history (1999-2001 starting with the CBZ classic)
Bajaj is the another smart player who too started off around that time with their pulsar range and look where they stand now (topping it off by their investment in ktm).
Its going to be a tough task for the rest of the bunch to get on the success bandwagon.
Even Yamaha hasn't been able to achieve what Honda has achieved considering they too have a global presence.. i guess it was all about the right timing !

^ Yes, its true that while commuters actually sell, its the performance motorcycles that get a brand identified.

Anyways, its a statistical news. Even ironic is the fact that the larger CB Shine (or just "Shine" in earlier years) has accumulated more than 30 Lacs sales. Although yes, Shine had more time to accumulate this, while Dream series is comparatively new.

Hearty congrats to Honda for this. This series will go a long way towards making Honda No. 1 as per their dream.

One thing is certain. Honda must improve their After Sales Service. It's as bad as good their machines are!
