  • Bajaj Discover 150F and Bajaj Discover 150S Launched!

Bajaj Auto launched two new variants of its Discover motorcycle, the 150F and the 150S. The 150F is priced at Rs. 58,700 (ex-showroom, Pune). The pricing of the Discover 150S was not immediately known.

The entry-level Discover was earlier available with a displacement of 124.6 cc (cubic centimeters) and 94.3 cc, which has now been up ramped up to 144.8 cc. The new bikes will hit showrooms across the country today. The earlier variants of the Discover will continue to be available in showrooms.

"A beast fuelled with power unimagined, the Bajaj Discover 150 is a Stallion that provides unparalleled performance. The breakthrough 150cc DTS-I engine ensures efficient combustion, and in conjunction with a 5-speed gear box, provides exceptionally smooth power, yet delivering class-leading fuel efficiency," Bajaj Auto says on its website.
The new Discover 150 bikes come with alloy wheels and 40mm front disc brakes that are meant to provide safe and superior braking. Gas-charged nitrox suspension in the new motorcycles promise "optimum level of comfort".

So Bajaj launches another Discover in a very low key affair. I wonder if the market is looking for another 150cc commuter, what with the fuel prices going up. Sales of the company has been hit off late and the lack of a scooter is negatively affecting the company. On the other hand, exports for Bajaj have continued to grow and profitability has been good. I wonder if these Discovers will help Bajaj grow in the domestic market?

Two more 150 ccs. Or should one say two more Discovers! I think they are playing the pricing game.

That's obviously a typo. The 2 bikes get the same hardware as the 125ST with the 200mm petal disc.

Disco 150f is a good move as many want a quarter faired 150cc bike

Saw the D150S in a showroom.. the monoshock makes it appear somewhat like the Unicorn.

Might not sell (the D150S/F) in big numbers but if promoted with fanfare, might increase footfalls in the showrooms

I like the F version. somehow I feel that half fairing suits discover more. Product looks good. Hope it is able to increase sales for Bajaj. Adding to this, I think Bajaj should look at scooter market again, but in a different way.

There are plenty of options in 100-125 CC range. Bajaj could try and tap a small but niche 150 cc scooter segment, like they did with the Pulsar series.

There are buyers like me who love to commute on their scooters to office and use Bikes for weekend trips. A slightly more powerful scooter is what we scoot users would love to own.

Kind of reminds of the Classic Karizma... not bad i'd say

Headlamp fairing ala old karizma / P220 style ... was the only thing, not tried earlier to make discovers a hit ...till now, and here it comes.

Btw, i always wondered if providing a plastic half cover to front disk helps in any way ...?? All discovers have it no other bike in india wants that..?

My guess- This is going to do a hell lot of good for Bajaj. A perfect performance commuter in todays time. But they should scrap the S version. Its going to flop anyway. Stunner and igniter should be worried now- A better performer at the same price.

Not everyone is comfortable riding a bike with a fixed fairing.

Not that many....only 6...now 125T has gone off the list in the official site.So the refreshed line up goes like this
                              1.d150 (s&f)
                              2.d125m
                              3.d125 2valve
                              4.d100t
                              5.d100m
                              6.d100 2valve

d150F should have had a tachometer too raised back like 125st.
