Most seem to be interested in RC-390. Cold response to RC-200 which might be due to high price considering its a 200cc bike.

Like 0-150 kmph how much time does it take? also roll over from say 80kmph to 150kmph (driving normally then accelrating because of a stimulus on road scenario :P)? The duke owners might know! ... after 150 I am assuming it would be relatively slow as it nears top speed ....

Ya, I've seen the video. Its nice to watch with the GoPro Hero3+ cameraOriginally posted by VindyTheRider View Post
... but he is just riding with friends and not really accelerating as fast as he could ..often shifting gears slowly and at low RPMs... also the hayabusa's pick up doesn't make you feel too good :P ... ill watch it again though with my eyes on the speedo ..maybe can try to see how many seconds he takes ....!

With the engine rpm limit extended to 11,700 watch thisOriginally posted by road_ripper View PostThe engine and gearing is same as duke 390 and weight is also similar only difference is fairing which helps at high speed. The duke stays ahead till 140-150kmph then ninja takes over, so in case of RC it might help another 10 or 15kmph so my guess would be RC stays ahead till around 165 kmph post which ninja still has top end advantage. Will have to wait for some reviews to find out. The Engine is hitting revvlimiter even in top gear which is disappointing, looks like the bike has potential till 190 but is limited with gearing
The peak power rpm depends on engine configuration and size of engine too. A 375cc single cylinder revving to 10k itself is great.
The duke 690 engine which is even bigger single cylinder produces 67ps @ 7500 rpm, so the bigger the single cylinder, the lesser will be the rev limit.

... that was bad-ass !!! .... Powertronic ECU+Akrapovic+K&N air filter+sprocket = madness
.... \m/
now, can you increase the sprocket size in the duke/RC ??? ..... I would be scared of the acceleration though ...not sure if it will have practical road use after that :P ...acutally never heard of anyone increasing sprocket size in our xbhp forum also ....hmm ... should think about it !

There is a video of walk around and exhaust sound from India.

I've seen this video long back and he has not just engine rpm extended but different exhaust and other set of modifications too. we have lots of aftermarket options for increasing speed but all that would void warranty, nothing beats stock reliability so i would have been happy if atleast the 5th and 6th gear ratios were different from factory itselfOriginally posted by VindyTheRider View PostWith the engine rpm limit extended to 11,700 watch this

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launch - Live Updates
Just saw on team-bhp that RC390 does have grab rails (I am not talking about grab holes under the seat). They are located right where the pillion seat starts. Looks like they must be India specific as I hadn't noticed them on any pic so far.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
not so surprising to me actually, i kinda expected that...Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostMost seem to be interested in RC-390. Cold response to RC-200 which might be due to high price considering its a 200cc bike.
while the pricing of the RC200 is certainly a factor now in the apparent lack of interest in it, i expected an overall relative lack of interest in it even if the pricing had been lower because pretty much everyone who might have been otherwise interested in these bikes has ridden/owned either the R15v2 or CBR250R by now and with RC200 in the same segment as those 2 successful bikes it's kinda obvious that most people want to upgrade to a higher cc/HP segment...sure the RC200 comes with some more advanced components but all that isn't going to make a world of difference from the R15v2 (which also being a yamaha is more trusted for its durability, handling etc by most people)...and while with respect to CBR250R there's going to be a huge difference in riding experience (one being pretty much a proper sportbike, other more of a comfortable 250cc commuter or touring-friendly) but most people go primarily with power figures (and not how it's attained or used) and general maintenance required in which case "most" CBR250R riders dont have much new to get from RC200.
on the other hand, a huge majority of people have never ridden a 43hp sportbike (which they can also boast is a bike presently used in a certain european championship), which fancies more people's wishes for a larger more powerful bike and so obviously a larger majority of interest is in the RC390..adding to such an intrinsic larger interest the fact that the on-road cost of the 390 will "only" be around 50-60000 more than the RC200 it's actually more affordable and profitable to own the 390.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 09-12-2014, 07:14 PM.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Hi...
I plan to buy KTM Duke 390 or KTM RC 390. Presently i am completely torn between these two choices. Plz help me with my decision by guiding me to the right choice based on my need of bike and keeping in mind my love for RC design.
I am basically buying the bike for the pure adrenaline rush that these bikes promise to give me in form of acceleration and speed. I dont plan to commute on it daily, maybe just 3-4 km daily for nearby market visit . i'll never take it to track[it will be my birst bike, am more of a car person and track is out of reach for me] But i do plan to take it for road trips sometime or may be on weekends with friends and pillon seat will be used.
I am in total love with RC fairing and if i admit frankly Duke is not designed as per my taste[Just my personal opinion]. I recently took test drive of Duke and i liked its agility in traffic[best handler in trafic, as per me].
My dilemma is that whatever i have read[whats available on net, reading about it since ONE MONTH] I guess Duke 390 is more suitable as per my requirements, but i want to know exactly how much compromise will i have to make if i buy the beautiful version of it.
I m 6'1" and weigh 80KG, and my lower back is in no good shape. I test drove Royal Enfield Continental GT and it pained my shoulder and wrists. RC 390 is not yet available in showrooms for test drive, and its yet to enter showroom in Delhi. And i might not get test drive any time soon. But i do plan to see ergonomics once it hit showroom.
So plz help me overcome my dilemma. Thanks in advance.

Based on your inputs, its looks like D390 is a better option.Originally posted by Alfa View PostHi...

Comfortable to ride within the city and highway(minus the windblast).
RC390 will definitely not be be easy on wrists or on ur back as its a more of track focused machine(so seating position, handle bars will be sporty).

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Wow, finally the RC devils are unleashed at surprisingly good prices. Now the only thing remaining to do is arrange for the $$ to enjoy one. Nice to see that Bajaj+KTM combo is going ahead with their new models much quicker than any of their counterparts.
