I don't personally have any close duke friends, but i heard it give hardly 25-30 when ripping and 40-45 when riding casually. I believe this is true, for a 200 cc bike. But in the case of RC, we have added weight, so i might think that the mileage will decrease, but also, the aerodynamics makes the bike slice through air, making it smoother, burning less (almost equal to counter weight increase) fuel and giving more mileage. Moreover this is my first bike(before that DIO 3 years) and I believe I'll be switching off in all the slopes. I don't why others won't ride like that.. doesn't that save fuel? Not all slopes, whenever and wherever possible.

Also, on a entirely different note, ANY DIO RIDERS HERE? If any Honda Dio riders are upgrading to RC 200, (not 390), then I'll tell u exactly what I have in mind. Dio is like a baby RC, (trust me) in other words, any of the RIDERS(RASHEST RIDERS) will see this bike as a god send. I was waiting for a bike which suited my riding style, Flicking, Bending, sudden Breaking and sudden Acceleration etc(though sounds childish, it involves precision beyond your imagination, not to mention the adrenaline), SO the moment I saw the RC, I knew this was the one. Duke really had me going, but the looks didn't reach to my needs, BUT WITH this RC 200, I believe its a "Monster DIO", SLEEK, SMOOTH AND SHARP looking, A perfect upgrade from dio. Does anyone else feel this way? Even the sound is so near to Dio with filter cap removed, mostly better than that only! Its THE Windows XP to Windows 7 upgrade. ALL THAT VISTA(DUKE? LOL) in between is not my up of tea!

Also, another sidenote, a few years back, I saw the Duke riders were riding so weekly, SO SAFE and Silent. But now, after their practice session, I see crazy riders, and also, much more daring and braveness. I believe the Duke IS THIS GENERATION's RX. All it took was KTM +(Street Concept) + a few 100 CCs = 200/375 CC of BLLAAAAAST. The next Gen Yamaha RX is the Duke. It has what it takes.

I'm in touch with a Langford, I was informed that I'll get the bike next week - fingers crossed. The payment for my bike is done too, going for Bajaj finance, which is approved too.

With the info you just posted, looks like next week we might be able to see a few RCs running around in Bangalore!
Hmm I understand now, but at first glance i got about how you booked it online now and got delivery now. So now i get it, U booked it on 9th or 10th online and getting delivery now.

Yeah I know we can book online, I booked it, they called me, told me to pay the money, then I rethought that it may get delayed online, server error that this and all, and went to showroom. So Now I know, KTM's servers are trust able.

I strongly recommend not doing that. I dont want to get into whether it saves fuel or no - thats a discussion for another day.
When you switch off your engine on slopes, you lose out on the most significant control point you have over your bike on the slopes without losing traction - engine braking.

+1 to that, and one should also note that starting the engine without a system like the one in hybrid engines uses lot of fuel.

I dont even know where to begin !!
To start with, I'm based out of Bangalore so I dont have the bike yet, haven't even got a chance to do a test ride yet. The website clearly mentioned NEFT transfer, so no ktm servers involved in payment section.

For your riding style ( the flicking, bending sudden braking and sudden acceleration), isn't the Duke a better choice than the RC?
On the same note, you switch off your engine on slopes to save fuel ( not a good idea), yet to go for sudden acceleration and braking? Smart ;-)

Now my favorite part of this saga : I honestly laughed at how you talked about filtering! It does require skills and b@lls of steel or just a disregard for safety, even more in Bangalore with our ricks, and the Volvo buses( that think can turn like crazy).! I can understand how it is fun, but trust me, one wrong move by you or anyone else on the road will not end well.
Someday you will grow up and find out it's actually fun to ride the bike in a way you can keep riding for long.

              Cheers!

Yes Sir, I do own a Dio(going to 8 years soon) and a RX100 (from the past 14yrs).. I know what you mean when you talk about the dio I feel it still is the most fun two wheeler to ride in city traffic. I picked up the D200 last week, and it sure has some dna from the rx but just way more powerful. You could call it the rx of this generation or rather a VERY expensive RX of this generation. The RC though, i felt very uncomfortable riding and was sure it would be a pain to ride in the city traffic at least for me..except for the looks it did not catch my fancy.

I do own a dio too but you cannot really compare dio / d200 nimble nature with RC.

Riding RC in traffic compare to dio or rx or duke will be pain for sure.

At Least I think so after taking a good test drive in traffic. It is uncomfortable

Pardon me, i did not mean to 'compare' the dio with the rc. it was just my view on only the dio
but again coming to comfort levels in city, i felt the rc is at the bottom of the lot of the faired bikes (cbr250r, cbr150r, R15).. again this is what I felt. I am in no way saying it is going to be a pain for everyone, so do not bash me up guys !
My only advice to you guys who are planning to get the RC, is to please test ride it at least a few times in the city traffic.Do at least 3 test rides of around 5km on different days. sometimes blindly listening to the heart might not be good for the pocket!

RC is a fantastic machine no doubt. Reason I booked one.

Who cares how much good you are at precision, all it takes is one loose gravel, one unseen puddle, one wrong turn to screw yourself along with innocent others who come in your way.

For folks in Bangalore : As per my "daily status call with KTM", RTO approval should be done by Wednesday ( as always my personal disclaimer with this info).
I have been told the second slot of bikes is on it's way, and ETA is by Saturday/Sunday.

PS : I'm not taking any bets on this as usual.
