    Hero Splendor still no1 seller in September: xBhp News

    Hero Motocorp's Splendor continued to enjoy No 1 spot in the list of top ten selling two-wheelers in India in September by selling 234,844 units, recording a slight decline in sales against 223,765 units in August.

    The second position was retained by Activa while Hero Motocorp's Passion and HF Deluxe occupied the third and the fourth positions respectively.

    Hero Motocorp continues as the most loved two-wheeler brand as four products of the Indian two-wheeler major feature in the top ten lists while Honda Motorcycles & Scooters with three products holds the second most popular brand in the list.

    Bajaj's Discover jumped to the sixth spot from the ninth spot, with a substantial rise in the sales volume from last month's 49,551 to 72,618 units.

      In rural India, Splendor is still the #1 choice. And Activa is still the undisputed leader in scooters. One of my friends was looking for a gearless scooter. He was confused with so much options all around. But his wise words were - Agar kucchh nehi milega to Activa hain na(if nothing is settled for, there is Activa)!

        Well in rural India tried and tested is the moto. And hero splendor is an age old formula that still works.

          Total 7 out of 10 top selling bikes are from Hero/Honda stable!!! (Honda's Engine). 2 from Bajaj, 1 from TVS.
          Bajaj's Pulsar and Disco sales have come down WRT last year, while all others have improved. Matter of concerned. More Showrooms and more Pulsars are needed sooner.

            Looks like Pulsars are the only 135cc+ brand in top ten, while the others are 100-125cc. Interesting times to be in the market to buy a bike and also to pick up Hero and Bajaj shares.

              Pulsar in general terms could mean all the way from135 to 220 including the 200ns. Why categorize it in general when they have 5 models. Also discovers. If splendor and hf deluxe were categorized as 1 i guess Hero will be uncatchable

                Pulsar sales at least 50% share must be from 150cc.

                I still can't digest why a lone scooter is sitting in the top and then the cb shine sales both are overrated plus overpriced .

                  wondering, what makes people choose this splendor? in the 4 wheel market people just rule out older engines and technology, for eg, ford figo and fiesta classic...old proven 1.4 is getting hit and they are gonna stop it soon...

                    But when you look at Alto ,omini they keep selling even with old tech engines (they change only if the emission norms make them to change ).

                    India's best selling SUV bolero will sell even with the old Di engine if emission norms permit .

                      Coz its a tried and tested formula. Kinda like the chetak before the 2000's
