We need this 321cc bike on our roads too. Yamaha, do something!
But, GBP to INR conversion shows 4.66L ex showroom which is way too high.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

I think yamaha will make this in India but at a right time because they are not like kawasaki, Infact they are the one who created premium 150cc segment with fz 6 years back and they launched r15 which was again a big but calculated gamble kinda thing at the time of its launch. I am not sure whether they will launch it with single cylinder or twin but I feel they will make it in India...sigpic

A bit over priced when converted to INR. For a sub 300cc mill, its a bit expensive. Definitely should be made in India. When R15 can be, why not R3.R15S - Current
Honda Dio - Current
TNT 600i - Sold
Classic 500 - Sold
Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold
Yamaha YBX125 - Sold

Hoping this will also be manufactured in india, if pricing is good over here, I definitely would get this over the rc390, as the performance difference is nominal.
No reason why it can't also be manufactured in india, as with R 15 which is based on the vixion.

2.2L for a twin 250cc mill is awesome. But all the words of svc people should be taken with a handful of saltOriginally posted by saquib3005 View PostPrice is juicy.
But alas this aint coming to India.
Went for servicing at usual SVC centre, and SVC head said that r25 coming and price tag in 1.9-2.2
But its the SVC guy who has told, dont know how much it is true.
But I do hope R3 comes to India in the near future. *fingers crossed*
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 price announced in UK: xBhp News
Honestly, its not that expensive, given that its the European price for a 321 cc bike.
Seeing what the Duke 125 retails for, you'll be amazed how can you get a R3 for just a little extra money.
All depends on the route they take to get this thing inside:-
1. If they import, then god save your pocket, because they have to declare imported bikes' prices fairly, and that means the tax will also be borne the user. This is highly unlikely though. Yamaha themselves won't take such a decision, I bet.
2. If they make/ assemble in India, then almost everything is cheaper here... Labour, Raw materials, etc. Then, may I dare to say you may find even a price tag of 2.5-2.6L Exshowroom.
(Before you flame me on mentioning such a "liberal" price, let me remind you that the N250 retailed for 2.69 exshowroom, when its parts were completely imported. I know its a completely new motorcycle, but the industry is old.)
Of course, this price is not an information, its a guesswork. A guesswork after seeing not only the motorcycle's focus, specs, etc. but also other factors like India's factor costing, India Yamaha's present market standing, etc.
I don't believe we should refer to European prices for motorcycles, unless we're talking CBU/ CKD imports.---

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 price announced in UK: xBhp News
The bike looks nice in person, the photos don't do justice. I sat on it (at a m/c show), it felt good unlike any of the older Yamaha's I have tried. I think these will fly faster than the ninja's.
Yamaha has done a great job with the new models, atleast aesthetically. The R1 felt light, like a 600cc bike and finally looks nice, maybe because I like the transformer theme

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 price announced in UK: xBhp News
I expect a price range between 2.5-3.0 lakh INR. That would be a very competitive price for what it offers.
The pound to rupees conversion seems a bit high but that shouldn't be the OTR in India.
OT - A good condition RD350 commands above 1.5 lakhs. Personally I think R3, if launched in India, can be a successor to RD350. So was just checking the price of a 2nd hand RD350.
Again, this was my personal opinion.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
