Saarji, you're definitely stereotyping to state this opinion.

I guess, it's subjective. With such an option at hand, I wouldn't mind trying the 5 star treatment once in a while - A tiring ride day that ends with plentiful of comfort goodies. 'might even help in munching more miles in the next leg of the itinerary.

From a business perspective, it's definitely a good move. Furthermore, owners are benefited too.

Something is better than nothing. Most of the HD owners might never avail of this facility. But some might. If not for tours, they can attend ceremonies, functions, get together or even have G2Gs(which they do).
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

There should be more such tie ups to ensure that atleast the 250+cc motorcycle owners get good hospitality, while they tour.
        that's where the discrimination starts...
lets say i drive in on a moped, so are they going to charge me 'moped' rates for their services?
if i have some membership etc, then its alright that i get more benefits and discounts... but if i don't, why should i ride a specific class of bike to get treated normally ? because i am anyway be going to be paying the regular prices! NO?

Let's hope.. but sometimes its fun to be looked upon as a 'hooligan' .. but discrimination at parking or the security guards dragging bikes makes my blood boil.

It's only a tie up with Taj.. so its mostly metro cities and a few 'exotic' locations where this is available. And does it say a HOG owner has to ride in on a Harley to avail the discounts or offers ? Can it be availed by just flashing the membership card with your id proof ?
Of course if a person is riding across towns n villages, this might not be useful.. but of course stopovers at cities where TAJ is available am sure a lot of harley owners would opt for it.

I'd really like to make a long-ish post about Harley Davidsons and 5-stars and brand positioning and the average biker and touring and luggage and a lot of other stuff(like what is stereotyping and how grammatically you should either say that you're stereotyping or that its your opinion), but well, considering the kind of people on forum these days(again, not referring to anybody in particular), I think either of the three propositions is likely to happen.

1: Post going over heads of people(Like cleaner's jokes in joke thread) and no reply
2: Name calling(like a typical debate on the internet)
          3: Nobody's gonna read it.

So I'm not really going to bother with it.

Saw you mention HD and touring in the same sentence twice in this thread. No offence, but come down to Bangalore, no HD rider tours (as in proper terms). Maybe 1% do at max. There are only breakfast rides. Up and down of 110-140 kms. Never saw the bungee types rider on a Harley so far. Saw one with panniers and luggage box. But it contained only a cam. Many here are mere posers. Wonder what stops them if a Busa can tour!
However, it's a nice business proposition and brand building for them.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

What I meant was that the companies should tie up with chain of hotels, to atleast let their 250cc+ customers enjoy the best of services, IF not all customers.

See, such tie ups not only ensure better deals, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, they ensure better perception and respect of the high capacity motorcycle owner, because he's expected by the hotel staff as a potential customer in advance.
But its impractical to expect every company to have such a tie up, and for that reason, the moped rider might be unwelcome, and this is a sad fact.

              I don't agree.
Once in a while, every rough and tough biker can enjoy a good hospitality.

Reminds me of Jack from the movie Titanic. "Right now my address is RMS Titanic. After that, I'm on God's good humour". Simple as that.
The same biker who's lonely on an open road with no guarantee to this life's next moment, can also be the same person enjoy a heated cozy room with his family.

Even if you stereotype seriously, a rough and tough biker is not allergic to good hospitality. If he gets 5 star treatment at the cost of a 3 star hotel, he might consider it seriously.
Specially, the Harley types, seeing how they value comfort above some other attributes.

All this reminds me of a certain British company, that didn't even deliver what it promised on its websites and dealerships.

And I think we should appreciate HD for this something "EXTRA" we're getting for no extra cost.

Let's say xyz brand has tie up with abc hotel for whatever cc of bike it is. I have no issues with members of this brand/club getting discounts or being garlanded at the entrance.

What i am only saying is that, a rider say like me and many others who ride a two wheeler (any brand any cc) without such a tie up, should be treated NORMALLY because lets say if i drive in on a 100cc bike to book a room, am going to be paying their normal rates.. so they should not discriminate at the parking or any such thing (like sunil pointed out)
I was talking about 'normal' treatment for the normal aam aadmi who pays the full rate.. why should that be impractical ?
I was in fact questioned once at the entrance of a 5 star hotel when i rode in on my dio (they asked me sir what do you want..) i lost my cool and was this close to punching them, i ended up complaining at the front desk and am sure they did not take any serious action or change their behavior. Why can't they just do their customary security check and let the vehicle pass like for the cars?

Less than 1% of any brand owner tours.. be it a harley a cbr or a zma. We may have a bunch of guys here on xbhp (or anywhere else) touring on their splendor, cbr, zma etc .. they still make up only a fraction of total sales of the respective bikes.
Like you said It's just one of those fancy brand building exercise and maybe a few owners will use it.. some may not out of self embarrassment of opting for a discount at such fancy places.
btw i did ask a question earlier - does it require a person to ride in on a harley or can the discount be availed by flashing some membership card and id proof?
Is there a single harley owner who has joined this discussion ? Please raise yer hand ! and i will join you on your next ride and experience some discount treatment.
If not i think this thread can be closed for good..
