Triumph Motorcycle America has recalled certain models of 2014 – 2015 motorcycle due to faulty engine control unit (ECU).
Triumph Says that -
According to Triumph, the affected ECU’s may improperly signal the activation of the bike’s fuel injectors and this can cause a loss of power on affected machines, which could induce a crash.
However it’s not clear that how many motorcycles have been affected, but Triumph had given a wide timeframe on production dates and expecting a massive number of motorcycles to be involved.
Triumph had already notified owners, and dealers will modify the internal ECU hardware, free of charge. This recall has already begun on November 6, 2014. Owners may contact Triumph customer service or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety.

the ECU may improperly activate bike’s fuel injectors on following models: America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Rocket III Touring ABS, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird ABS, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800 ABS.
Triumph says the effected motorcycles were manufactured February 6, 2014 to August 7, 2014.
