Actually hero impulse was the first bike which was produced after split. Hence it was purposefully a different than the league. Impulse 250 will be a good bike with decent power and torque figures. No comparison with Dukes of the world but this will also be significantly lower in price.

Hero Impulse = Honda NXR 150 Bros. Please research before spreading rumours. Thanks

I think you have difficulty understanding english. In my post i have mentioned that it was first bike after split and nothing about tech fron honda.

From next time onwards read carefully before commenting.

Re: Hero is working on 200cc and 250cc Impulse

Maybe you should read TheArcher84's question first? He was asking if Hero can re-use the Impulse platform to "develop" a bigger displacement model of the same with EBR's help.

Also Impulse was launched in 2011. Honda recieved royalties for all the products till 2014. So technically the split happened a year ago. The first indigenous bike from the Hero stable is bound to be the HX250R in all likelihood.

(you may go for a long touring and hit some trails.. but then again the percentage of that as against riding on tarmac is like what.. 5%?)..

            what am i missing here?
            You've got a point.
But, I think between Impulse and Hero Xtreme (or Karizma), I would choose Impulse because it does have a very distinct USP.
There may be many such riders, who really want to be comfortable on a fast bike. In few places in India, roads are so bad that you off road on the road itself. This bike will shine there.

For rest of the India, it will serve as a bike for those, who want to look different . I hope no one uses it for illegal stuff like riding on footpaths, etc.

From this discussion, I'm reminded of CS Santosh setting the sands on fire, in the Desert Storm rally. He was on a (slightly modified) Duke 390.
Doesn't the Impulse deserve a better chance with a bigger engine at such competitions? The current Impulse barely clocks a true 100 kmph in its 5th cog. With a bigger engine it should be a better all-rounder & tourer.

Frankly speaking, KTM, Honda, Yamaha, etc. might be going Track racing, but that will be a difficult plan, because infrastructure and setting up for Track racing is expensive.
With just 3 or so large tracks across the country, we're pretty much stagnant, with the exception of few youth who actually go the distance.

This country can get addicted to off roading. If that happens, it will happen in every corner of the country & not just 2-3 far-placed tracks.
Hero can take up this initiative for once instead of Hockey or Cricket, and believe me, we'll be happy if that happens.

And when that happens, the Impulse 250 might be put to some great use, that we'll all be happy of!

hmmm.. now that i think of it the off road tracks if built would be an awesome idea.. and thats where the impulse will actually shine..

Re: Hero is working on 200cc and 250cc Impulse

In India, the adventure biking segment hasn't kicked off due to lack of proper bikes and some other conditions like roads etc. If a 200-250 cc off-roader comes in, that'd do a world of goods with adventure seekers who want a light but comparatively powerful bike. Specially Impulse is a proven one. It's never too late!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Bring it on Hero and pls do it fast.... my Impulse is withering away and am growing old... I might just switch to street biking only and KTM it will be... and there r many like me who hv been waiting too long... Interestingly hv used my Impulse for adv touring.... motocrossing... street biking... track biking (at kari)... believe me its a gr8 all rounder

The 250cc Impulse will come with the EBR engine powering HX. However, things are not going anywhere with that engine as yet. Sad to inform, but it will be long before any of these new Hero bikes see the light of day.
