Re: DSK to launch Chinese brand Keeway along with Benelli TNT 250 in India

In description it says backster is a single cylinder 250cc bike. So does it mean it's a bike with single cylinder engine which is made to look like double cylinder or it really has a V twin?

Do not make way for keeway. I will stay loyal to Jap, European (not manufactured by any ching chang group or so) and our Indian brands

We contacted the DSK-Hyosung/Benelli Group for their comment on this report, and here's what they have to say,

Keeway is a European Brand and a sister brand of Benelli. Keeway is mainly into the lower capacity engine displacement motorcycles from 100cc to 250cc. Keeway has a range of motorcycles which could be appropriate for Indian bikers, and may come to India under the Benelli brand.

DSK Benelli announces launch of a new bike called TNT 25 by Diwali

The Benelli TNT 25 will come with an exposed frame, a conventional side mounted exhaust, engine cowl, USD front forks and disc brakes at both ends. To be priced around the Rs 2 lakh mark, although it is styled like the Duke twins, at that price it will be competing against the Duke 390, which makes almost twice the amount of power, comes equipped with modern bits like ABS, a slipper clutch and super sticky Metzeler rubber. Perhaps if priced in the same territory as the Duke 200, DSK Benelli could see a lot of this pocket sized trinitrotoluene shifting out of their dealerships.

              News Approved.

Ok Guys, coming to the topic, which existing bike is this TNT 25 resembling, specially from the first pic? Tell me the obvious answer...
FZ, right? Well a little maybe. But, there's one more... (?)

Jokes apart, I was thinking that with TNT 300 being a twin and costing 3 Lacs~ anyways, when will their mass market product come up? And here is the answer. TNT 250. After all, a company can really benefit from a mass market product.

Such mass market motorcycles are like bottom rock slabs of a pyramid, which support the top rocks of the pyramid, i.e. the niche/ performance products.

However, the question is, with a price range of 2 Lacs anyways, how will this bike sell? Specially with a "kingly" competition, for almost the same price.
NOTE: A small heads up guys. Its almost around 1st April, so be extra careful while seeing news on other sites or your FB timeline. There might be some biking jokes coming up as news...

Re: DSK Benelli announces launch of a new bike called TNT 25 by Diwali

Can't see a winner with this, KTM has got it right over here within the sub 400 cc market, I like most would go for a Jap bike over this or the one of the KTM's, even Hyosung is more appealing (650) than the Chinese Benelli, still no harm in having choice, the main thing is that we have easy access to spares and service...

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !

This bke along with Trek(similar to Triump Tiger) and Blackster (cruiser) were showcased at IBW Goa this year. TNT 250 looks great and sounds even cooler. More details should be up when someone takes it for a spin.

The build quality is much better than hyosung and from what I have seen and ridden, 600i is a winner in its segment. If Benelli folks get their service right kawasaki, triumph and ducati will be in a hot spot.

DSK Benelli May Launch TNT 25 (250 CC) by this Diwali (2015)

If the grapevine are to be believed, knowing that the quarter liter market in India is on fire, and Benelli plans to feed to it.

Going forth, DSK Benelli officials announced at the launch that the company will bring 2 more products by Diwali this year (November 2015), provided homologation processes happen smoothly. One of these motorcycles is expected to be the TNT 25, which was showcased at the India Bike Week last month.

The TNT 25, when launched, will serve as the entry-level offering for the company, and will slot below the TNT 300 which is priced at INR 2.83 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. Power for the TNT 25 comes from a liquid-cooled single-cylinder 249.2 cc engine which makes 24.1 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 2.1 kgm (20.59 Nm) of torque at 7,000 rpm.

To put this in perspective, the KTM Duke 200 makes 24.7 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 1.94 kgm (19.02 Nm) of torque at 8,000 rpm. There are further areas where the TNT 25 and Duke 200 come evenly matched. The brakes for example, on the TNT 25 are a 280 mm disc up front and a 240 mm at the rear. On the Duke 200, KTM provides a 280 mm at the front and a 230 mm at the back.

Both motorcycles get a USD front suspension, and while the Duke 200 gets an alloy swingarm for the rear, the Benelli TNT 25 manages with a box section unit. One department where the Duke upstages the competition is in weight. At 136.4 kg, the Duke is significantly lighter compared to the TNT 25’s 150 kg.

Pricing will decide the final outcome, though the Benelli TNT 25 will surely attract new audience to the brand.
Rivals: KTM Duke 200, Honda CBR 250R
Expected Price Range: INR 1.5-2 lakhs, ex-Showroom
Tentative launch date: By November 2015

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                          THE END
