Re: DSK Benelli, Now in Pune!

I just saw the TNT 899 at the Goa Hyosung showroom today. The Benelli showroom is not yet ready so the bikes will be displayed here till then. They are expecting the rest of the bikes in 2-3 days.

Wet Clutch is immersed in oil for cooling purpose which also keeps surfaces clean and provides smoother performance and longer life. But on the down side, it lose some energy to the liquid (oil). Hence we get less power to the rear wheel, since the surfaces of a wet clutch are slippery.

Dry Clutch as the name states, are completely dry not immersed in anything, hence the power loss is minimal. The Biggest reason why MotoGP bikes uses this clutch. But on the down side, it overheats and wear out quickly and in Indian condition this wear will be even fast due to dusty environment.

I thought this is worth sharing, Rs. 24.6K for Titanium Brake-Clutch lever kit.

The Benellis doing their duty in the 'Thank You Ride' seemed to performed very well. The 899 is a big, heavy machine. As per Old Fox sir, the 300 tops out at around 160 kmph but is remarkably smooth. There were a lot of queries regarding the 300 as being the least powered of the four Benellis, this one felt comparatively closer to us!
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Build Quality is international...nothing abnormal as such...but...buttons are tiny, feels bit odd as you are sitting on such a big bike which has tiny switches anyways, i could handle it well when in need, so that should not the issue...rather, when in routine, that design/size is more convenient, who knows..!!

Also checked out the 600i, 600 GT (without boxes) and the 300. Started all 3. The 600i sounds the best followed by the 600 GT & 300. The 300 sound is not bad at all. All the bikes had Pirelli tyres. The bikes were all displayed at the Nissan Showroom.
