There is something about the enfields. I am not a fan and hate the bulk, but I was taken aback to see one in the London Sea Life Aquarium(Waterloo) of all places

It was not prominently displayed. It was in a dark corner, almost like seized bikes gathering rust at Police stations.

Royal Enfield has officially announced the prices of its Despatch motorcycles.

Royal Enfield unveiled its collection of riding gear inspired from Despatch riders of world war and limited edition Despatch motorcycles in May this year.

The Royal Enfield has priced the Classic 500 Despatch at Rs. 2,16 lakhs (On-Road, Delhi). The bikes will be available in three colors including Desert Storm, Squadron Blue and Military Green, but the Military Green will only be sold overseas.

With production restricted to just 200 units, the limited edition Royal Enfield Despatch models come with embossed aluminium hallmark that will carry the production number and details of the Oragadam, Chennai plant where the bike is made.

Royal Enfield will start accepting bookings for the limited edited Despatch motorcycles online only from 15th July onwards in India.

The pricing is quiet good considering the exclusivity and considering normal desert storm is 1.90 lakhs on road mumbai. For some reason I'm in love with squadron blue with matte black engine and matte black exhaust even though I'm waiting for delivery of my storm. I'm not a big fan of the camo look though.

I tried booking the moment when booking opened, but it was showing out of stock, my brother has been able to book the blue one around 10 minutes later anyways..

RE bikes are on great demand..all this is possible. Similarly I was trying to shop for a helmet from Vega store & RE store...allmost everything is sold out !! whats happening

Actually all 200 bikes sold within 26 minutes only..it was like a mobile flash sell

Look at it this way. Even after all the complaints of niggles and underperformance, the RE's still enjoy the least amount of depreciation in value, compared to most bikes in India. In next few years, the value of these Limited Edition models may increase, especially if the rumours of possible discontinuation of UCE models turns out to be true. So for the luck few who got their hand on it now, it may actually turn out to be investment.

Indication of bikes getting fed up with n number of models coming out from manufacturers in no time with 100cc upgrade s in every model and some decals..'RE on other hand has exclusivity, classic feel with simplicity..
