re: Yamaha MT-03 launch soon!
Yamaha MT-03, the naked version of Yamaha YZF-R3 will soon hit the Indian two-wheeler market as confirmed by the Japanese Two-Wheeler giant.
Yamaha has confirmed that the bike will be shown at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi and will be launched around second quarter of the year. The price of the Yamaha MT-03 is expected to be Rs30,000 to Rs 40,000 cheaper than its faired version YZF-R3 that costs Rs 3.25 lakh ex-showroom delhi.

MT15 and MT03 will sell like hot cakes! This news shifts me from the MT15 to MT03
Also the author of the article included the KTM Duke 390 into comparison? Why would he do that?Last edited by RoyalIndian; 12-10-2015, 03:18 PM.

Now thats an interesting news. And also it is much needed news from the Yamaha Stable, so they need to get their more bikes here and start marketing it properly/ Well waiting for the Auto Expo now.

I doubt that they will sell like hot cakes. If they keep the pricing in 3 L bracket then we have another Inazuma on the cards.

re: Yamaha MT-03 launch soon!
Those who are in the market only for an yamaha or those who are looking for refinement will go for this. All others in all probability will go for D390 considering the equipment level n vfm. Also the MT doesn't have a respectable pillion seat or tank range unlike a TNT 300 which would have otherwise worked in it's favour. But nevertheless, it is a welcome move by yammy giving enthusiasts a choice.

The MT15 will sell, as for MT-03 it is said to cost 30-40k less than the R3 so yes it will be below 3lakhsOriginally posted by lalitp View PostI doubt that they will sell like hot cakes. If they keep the pricing in 3 L bracket then we have another Inazuma on the cards.
Those who are in the market for a Japanese bike will go with the MT03, TNT300 is a Chinese bike (manufactured by Italians owned by a Chinese giant)Originally posted by sharathchandra View PostThose who are in the market only for an yamaha or those who are looking for refinement will go for this. And please for the love of God, dont compare a Single with a Twin. MT03 is to compete with the likes of Z250 and TNT300 not D390
MT03 has a 14L tank, TNT300 has 16. That to me isnt big of a difference. I have ridden the MT03 in the UK earlier this year, the pillion seat is respectable if you can understand who the bike is designed for. You cant carry around your mom as pillion on this bike in the same way you cant do so on the MT15. That isnt a deal breaker, simply because the bike isnt designed for such purpose.

The concept of choosing bikes based on number of cylinders is still new here, people still look at the CC's. So bikes having similar cc's are compared before buying, people who are aware about the cylinders n it's advantage will go for MT.
For an average Indian, pillion seat is a deal breaker n that includes me as well, currently own a D390 n planning to sell it soon just because of that very reason, pillion seat!!

If I may ask, what exactly is wrong with the pillion seat?Originally posted by sharathchandra View PostThe concept of choosing bikes based on number of cylinders is still new here, people still look at the CC's. Is it hard?
Is it small?
Is it too high?
All of the above?
Did you not evaluate the pillion seat before purchasing the bike?
